  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Anyone want to give this a grade?

Someone how got the eyes to stand out better than anyone else.

Thanks a lot Will, very nice of you. It was a little power window, but I guess the top area darker helps.

Very nice thread with interesting work.

Figuring out which shots to give you guys. I have lots of good stuff. Some scenic land shots, some character shots, some with weapons. I don't want to highjack Elliots thread though, it's a good one.

All you guys are grading in Resolve or AE? No RCX grades?

98% in RC-X, then I actually did just a tad more in LR, maybe that's where the funky stuff popped in......

Alright, I'll join the fun as well:

Exported to TIFF, and edited in Adobe Camera Raw 7.3.

EDIT: Weird, it looks way softer on here than it does elsewhere. Oh, well.

I actually just used RC-X. Dont do much colour grading, so it works for me.

Not to derail this thread but after seeing all these different takes on this image, I have to ask. How can anyone have issues with skin tone on the epic?

That is the point: it is just a fallacy... Cheap tactic to justify their laziness, or even incapability to deal with RAW.

Here's three versions I threw together in Resolve with a couple of nodes. I like to stick to the more natural look, and avoid the HDR local contrast/super sharpening look, so I've got a naturalistic one, a slightly more punchy and tinted version, and a softer tinted version. Fun little quick thing to see everyone's different takes!
