Of course I'm new here, and quite new to the cinematography industrie.
I have gone through these fourms a million times and I've learned so much but......why dont we find out what we like to do other than film and video.

I'm only 14, and since I was 12 I LOVED mechanics. Machines were my life. I had the privilege to use welders, grinders, drills, saws and other assorted tools and machines. But I figured that mechanics isn't going any where except for hybrid vehicles and GEET generators (engines that can run on 20% fuel and 80% ANY KIND OF LIQUID...no joke)

But for some reason I've always had a passion for video.
So I bought a small JVC everio :cool:haha, and also got a small camera jib and assorted lenses and batt's. Now I'm using a DVX100b and a glidecam4000 with the vest.

But enough of me....I wanna know about you!

First thread here, hope it dosent get deleted or shot down!

it'll be coming soon! My school uses Imac's that just came in, but for now i use a vista laptop with adobe creative master suite cs4 and its REALLY NICE, just gotta finish a shoot for my school on glidecam! thanks for the reply!

i love airsoft too! have you ever heard of the tornado airsoft grenade???airsoft is big in some parts of Canada. Its a fun hobby!

Well, I'm at University studying electrical and aerospace engineering, and I work part time as a software developer. My hobbies include rock climbing, mountain biking, still photography, snowboarding (which can be difficult when the closest snow to me is about 15,000 km away).

And obviously I'm into filmmaking, being on Reduser!

thats definetly cool! I guess electricity is 'kinda' of a hobby because i do screw around with small circut boards ( and dont forget the fact i helped my dad rewire 3 houses) Im into mountain biking too, i have a Devinci dirt jumper sitting in my room screaming to be used. I used to snowboard too =], untill i developed OSD, some thing that screws up my knees! but that is really cool man!

I love bike riding. It's my favorite hobby equal to taking pictures and making movies. I don't get paid riding a bike but I friggin love it so much..especially with large groups of people

3 kids... age 1-8

Not a hobby as such - by any standards, but there's something else to keep your mind busy, the hours flowing and your attention alert.

Wow, I have way too many hobbies. Here are the main ones:

Cinematography (obviously)

Racing gas powered RC cars (I run nitro 1/8th scale buggies). I also custom paint the clear lexan bodies that protect the cars.

Still photography. I currently shoot with a Nikon Ftn 35mm film camera and a Mamiya C330 Medium Format TLR. Here is my flikr account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/46271105@N07/

Studio Art: I am an oil and acrylic painter. I won a couple of awards in high school for my work. My avatar is actually a portrait of Robert De Niro I made out of cut construction paper. I am also an experienced air brush artist.

Model United Nations. I love to debate and have traveled to Harvard and Taiwan to compete.

Movie trivia. I also review films for my campus TV station.

Automotive design. I actually considered a career in automotive design at one point but went with cinematography instead due to the fact that the auto industry is in the tank and most of the design jobs are going overseas.

Other filmmaking related hobbies include scriptwriting and designing and constructing film equipment. So far, I have built a handheld stabilizer, two cranes, a track dolly and an underwater housing.

Now that I am in college, I wish I had more time for these hobbies but I do my best to stay involved.

Archery. There are competitions and leagues. Old school diversion. Work and other hobbies are all centered around computers and technology. Its so nice to leave that world and focus on something completely different.

Before I moved to NYC my hobby was restoring my first muscle car that was also my first car, also had it since high school. Now its in storage back in PA. So I guess my hobby is on hold for now.
