I ordered an X5R today after reviewing a very comprehensive review, I hope to share more on this experience later. Did anyone else jump on this new piece of kit? Thoughts?

I know one who bought it... he said he will now sell his dragon. That says alot i think.

Ours arrives on Tuesday. Will be putting a lot of tests and DNG sequences online. Pretty stoked. Also developing a Carbon Fiber lightweight crane for the Osmo. 30+ feet, breaks down into a backpack...will be pretty sweet once the Osmo/X5R adapter is released. I have a 3D printed one for now that will allow for initial testing.

I saw some tests that looked really good, MFT is a decent size sensor, not quite super 35, but much better than GoPro, 16mm, video etc. when you get RAW 4K, duel remotes, integrated camera control on the fly, literally, light bridge up to a mile, really stable gamble, etc., etc. for $6K it kinda blows me away.

There's something groundbreaking here. If this isn't the first wave of the future of image acquisition already, it's not too different from what it will look like.

Some smart young kid (ideally one who does parkour) with a bit of money and tons of creativity will get a DJI focus, Osmo, and X5R, and blow our minds with camera movement.

Next question becomes, what are the good micro 4/3 lenses to put on these? DJI is doing some cool stuff.

How readily interchangeable is the DJI stuff? For example, X5R to drone+gimbal, X5R to tripod, X5R handheld w/Osmo -- can all these be done easily with the same camera? If so this is a package I would really like.

I expect the Zuiko (Olympus) glass to be quite good, my very first stills camera was an Olympus and the lens was good. MFT lenses are pretty simple primes and the modern designs shouldn't have many deficits. The test I saw seemed pretty good, sharp etc. I'd like to hear a more in depth review though on the Olympus glass from a MFT shooter who has used them.

Apparently there are only a few lenses that DJI actually approves for use since lens weight and size clearly would affect the gimbal.

In regards to RAW footage, what are the files (DNG sequences?) and workflow? Have you taken delivery yet Mark?

All the Olympus lenses I ordered are approved by DJI, I haven't received the machine yet, Thursday I believe. As far as work flow DJI has their own software for transcoding Cinema DNG files, which can be output to a variety of codecs to use with Resolve, Premier, etc. I'll know a lot more in a couple of weeks :-)
