Big fan of W* Camera. Have their rigs for my 1DC and Pocket. Their A-Box audio XLR adapter for the Pocket looks like a natural fit for Raven.

Two, we totally get the request on media. We spend months and months qualifying media for speed, reilabiity over time, the ability to handle our horsepower over long shoots without heating up so much you can fry an egg on them. It is not as simple as "the media option x can go fast enough for RED." We have a host of other requirements and plenty of media are fast enough, but just cannot check the other boxes.
We want you shooting with 99.99999% confidence in your media. Some shots are once in a lifetime. Do you want to really want to gamble there?
One more question, W**den Camera have rights to develop modules for Weapon? They come up with battery module last month. Is it legit?
Not all shoots are created equal. Sooo many users just want to go film their buddies skateboarding/snowboarding/mountainbiking/surfing with their new Ravens. I bet many would GLADLY lose a shot or two if they could stock up on media for those 4k120 shoots at half the cost. Food for thought
Good idea, Ces, and nice effort. The Scarlet Dragon max frame rates are off in your current chart though. Also, brains come with an AC power adapter included.Since some people are still figuring out the difference between camera prices and models I thought I'd share this table I just made. Some info might be wrong, but I can update it or add information if anyone finds it useful.
what makes you think that many filming skateboarding / snowboarding / surfing would "gladly" sacrifice a clip due to cheap media? Sorry but that's really insulting to many people in those genres.
Please… Are you looking for a reason to get upset? You're making me hit a nerve I didn't even touch.
I'm talking about informal buddy shooting here. Lot's of people will stretch their means to get to Raven. As an owner operator, don't you keep the camera rolling? I'm sure for many, the learning process will be finding exciting things to shoot whether it be action sports @120 or their own scripts with friends. I'm just as sure that a large portion of those would happily use cheaper media when shooting for personal education.

And for a shoot-ready package, I think most people would go with a Touch LCD instead of a side handle + non-touch. And to shoot for a full day, more batteries would be required and at least 512GB worth of Mags. I think Epic Dragon shoot-ready would run about $35K to last a day.
I'm pretty excited about it. Would love a interchangeable mount, bigger sensor, and at least 4.5-5K but what the Raven offers is great for the price.
This basically sounds good and not necessarily defensive. Perhaps the difference between you and us is that you have the research to prove your point of view—to your credit… Even so, with your 3 base expanders and numerous handles (all good stuff) a case could be made for flexibility on the media side module too.

Plus—then the absence of a Mini-Mag station in the package would make sense again!!![]()
I've followed Red since they were "vaporware", shot a lot on the Red One, owned a Scarlet and an Epic.
In my opinion, for what I do (indie filmmaking), the Raven is the best camera Red has ever made.
- 4K Dragon sensor
- Redcode Raw
- WiFi
- Auto Black Shade
- High Frame Rates
- Light Weight
- Easy On The Wallet
Never mind Full Frame and 5k, 8k, 20k... this is THE camera to beat.
