Can a computer generate a good idea?

Can a computer generate a good idea?

REDUSER recently had a brisk debate if good ideas or scripts could developed synthetically. Conclusion was largely for the forseeable future, highly creative, Oscar winning content will be made the old fashioned way.

But, it's certainly intriguing and a bit scary to see thinking logic -based algorithms in the early fetal position, considering the speed of todays technical development.

I'm from the camp that believes with enough CPU cycles and with a sufficient pool of quantitzed data, thinking code could weaponize any industry, including filmmaking.

The best part of that film is watching the great actors fashion emotional sense of it. Of course that's not the first time that happened ;) I thought it was a fun experiment that failed hilariously. We have meaning machines - humans.

so how do you sue an AI for plagiarism?

Still as unsettling as it was then. Don't know why it reminded me of this ... Shown only once during the 1984 suoerbowl, Joe Montana's big day.

The look on everyone's faces in the sports bar was priceless. And a little unsettling.

It seems people are already contemplating robotic rights

The Fox TV show "Almost Human" Did a good job of showing what an AI future could look like. I don't normally watch Sci-fi shows but I wish they had left that one running... at the time it was the second best show on television IMO... right in line behind "Person of Interest."

Yeah, yeah, and androids, unlike real shepherds, are having (wet) dreams of electric sheep.
Blah...
