  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Adobe + Epic Sneak!!!!

It's funny, you see the new update as a bad thing, I'm stoked.
Expanded RED support
Native Epic support
Merge Clips, sub clips
Better Mercury engine support

I'm ugrading as soon as I possibly can. Apple Who?

I don't have an issue with the "enhancements" ( I think it's more a patch than upgrade) ,
but look at a couple of the features in the Sony Vegas Upgrade below and see what I'm talking about,
plus support for AMD/Ati acceleration...

New Features in Vegas™ Pro 10.0d

  • GPU Accelerated AVC Encoding Support Expanded to AMD — Adds support for users with AMD ATI graphics chipsets which support OpenCL to use the Sony AVC encoder for faster project rendering
  • 3D MVC and MPO File Format Support — Additional native support for emerging MVC and MPO 3D file formats provides continued functionality with cutting edge camera and media technology (Sony cameras that support these formats include: TD10, NX3D1, TD300, and the Alpha and NEX series)
  • 3D Blu-ray Disc Timeline Burning — New burning capability allows users to burn full HD 3D Blu-ray Discs onto BD-R/BD-RE media, providing editors with a complete ingest, edit and delivery option for 3D media
I look forward to what Apple puts forward, but I'll pass on this adobe offering...

Dave,

CS5.5 is major disappointment to me in that there's NO 3D NATIVE
Premiere and AE ...

I am not happy about the upgrade fee for the 5.5 release either, not cool for those of us who
just bought CS5 Master Collection less than 12 months ago to work with Red footage...

I WILL instead switch to Apple FCP if they do native Red 3D stereo, and NOT upgrade CS5
(Do the math, not worth buying into Cineform + Adobe upgrade)...

I learned editing on Premiere years ago, then jumped ship, and you had me back last year,
only to possibly lose me again with this ...

You might want to provide that feedback to your development team...

If you make a living using these products why would you be upset at paying $400 for new features.

Im just bummed we have to wait till May.

Hey Greg,

I guess you don't care about editing 3D Red footage and working on an ATI-based Mac Laptop?

No problem, send them more cash ...

I'm giving my honest feedback and not a check this year.

BTW, How much did you pay for REDCINE-X BUILD 356 ? and REDCINE-X BUILD 416 ?
Now that's service and commitment...

I do think Adobe is distracted by Apple when it allows Sony to own them in the latest release for 3D editing and Blu-Ray authoring,
why they didn't acquire Cineform amazes me, and leaving the 3D workflow to 3rd parties for 2011 instead of controlling
their own destiny for a couple of years now mystifies me...

I guess I could go buy a $99 Go-Pro 3D pack with Cineform bundle instead and do the impossible in comparison to CS5.5...

I jest because I'd like Adobe to stay on top of the game, 3D included...

Hi John, I really think if you are little patient Native 3D will come to PProCS5 its inevitable. I agree the you the 5.5 upgrade was not as radical as say CS5, but we have to admit they met us a third of the way implementing features we requested. Don't switch altogether, we live in a time when technology is changing really fast and our creative demands parallel those of the highest end. As you can see in the software landscape no one company can do it all. We should actually be grateful they attempt to meet our requests at the same price points. Plus Cineform has drastically reduced most of their prices this NAB2011 to meet commercial demand. Neo #D is now $1000, down from $3000.

Thank you for the feedback- I was still under the assumption Cineform Neo3D was at $2995 as it shows on their website today.

Not really I have other tools for that, my point is $400 is cheap if you earn a living with this tool. If you dont like the upgrade dont get it, but at $400 its worth every cent.

F%#^$&$*$^* me! Thats cool!

I so love Photoshop and AE... Not a huge fan of Premier... But if Final cut does not play ball in it's next installment, Ill be jumping in for another look at it.

Mark have you tried PPro CS5? It really is leaps and bounds better than before.
