  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Adobe CS6 officially released.

LOL... I haven't been able to sign into the Adobe LWS today. Keeps timing out. I guess everyone is making a mad dash to get CS6 and have it a bit overloaded.

The trick with Adobe servers (for me at least) when the download becomes super slow is to pause the download and restart it. The download then goes back up to 1.5~2mb per seconds.

Aye, but does Neat Video work in it yet??

Mike

I'm getting this error when trying to install:

Exit Code: 15
-------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------
- 0 fatal error(s), 2 error(s), 0 warning(s)

ERROR: ASU has quit unexpectedly.
ERROR: Media DB Error : 18

Neat Video is not on the currently list that I can find.

When is Red Color 3 coming out?

And, finally, how does Speedgrade compare to Colorista?

Stephen

Regarding Neat Video... I actually emailed them earlier today asking if Neat Video is compatible with CS6. Here is the response I got:

"Mostly yes, and for the remaining bits we are currently preparing an update, which will be available (as free update) in the coming days.

Best regards, Vlad"

Anybodys guess as to what he means by "mostly"!

OH. MY. GOD.... This is INSANE! I can playback 4k on my Macbook Pro at 1/2 res almost at speed and 1/4 is beautifully smooth :-O

RCX pauses at 1/4.

Speechless....

I get 1/2 res almost at speed too on my Sandy Bridge-E workstation. I think with a little overclocking it will playback at normal speed.

When people tell me it's great that I have a Scarlet, but "have fun" editing all that 4k footage, I only reply with one word.

Adobe.

What are your macbook pro specs? I can't get 1/4 playback without dropping lots of frames. I'm on MBPS 2.2 core i7 early 2011 with 16gb ram, SSD and media on separate raid thunderbolt.

You are so lucky are you using OPenCL acceleration?

Early 2011 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 w 8gigs of ram. Running Pr on SSD and media on internal 7200rpm seagate in my Optical slot...

EDIT: Are you looking at 5k or 4k? I'm looking at stuff I shot 4k 120fps this weekend. Will try it with 5k in a minute.

This rocks Adobe! everything is much more responsive as well. 5.5 was always jumpy with me. 6 is butter in comparison :)

Wow, that .1 Ghz really does something after all. Thanks for sharing your specs.

That's pretty much my exact setup, down to the SSD and internal drive replacing the optical. Can't wait to see what kind of performance I get on CS6. Any special tips on setup/preferences?
