Action Products Raptor Offer: Only Good Until 3/22

Thank you Justin, I did see those, I should have said any pix's that are of the unit today or maybe now the vest and everything is as it will be for the release.

Raptor 35lb BackMounted Vest: BackMounted Vest with industry standard connector. Folded and milled aluminum construction that will resemble the make up of 50lb Back Mounted Vest used for the ActionCam Rebel Red and Pro. The half moon shaped piece seen in the NAB2012 pictures was a prototype at the time. That design was dropped.

We don't have any pictures of the final vest just yet, but below is a picture of what the 50lb vest looks like to give you a ball park view of what to expect.

Seems like a ton of power for such a compact design and long boom range. Good to have the option of greater mass for inertia.

The deposit option is also very helpful.

what is the boom range? Also will the 35lb springs be made available for the group buy? How much and are they user installable?

The boom range is 37" (96cm).

I was under the impression that you can, at least, get the 35lb springs instead of the standard springs at no charge. I guess that wasn't explicitly said though so confirmation from AP would be good.

Yes, you'll need to send off a message to Carey (original comment) who can give you the details of the spring, but we have it official from Justin above that anyone going for this 3 day offer can opt for the larger springs. No mention was made of added expense but that would have to be confirmed, as Brandon says.

The boom range or lift, is 96cm (37 inches) (source: original post of this thread).

edit: just realised I duplicated Brandon's comment exactly, ups.

I'm awaiting AP's response regarding 35 pound springs, their warranty, and other answers to questions I've been asked... In the meantime, get your name on my list before it's too late : )

I just got some more detailed pictures of the ActionCam Raptor Arm from ActionProducts...

The photos you see here are showing the pre-series arm. Some details will be slightly different in look (even better) then shown here.

Changes are:
  • The gray caps are a bit smaller and with matched design to the arm shells
  • The arm shells will have a “silk like” mate anodization (not shiny like here)
  • Some smaller design changes
These photos can also been see on the ActionProducts Blog! More to come very soon ;)
