  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A taste...

Kinda feels like that scene in Close Encounters when they realize they are receiving coordinates, and all the scientists run and get a big globe out of someone's office to start narrowing it down.

yawn ... zzzz :meh:

Jesus, 1030 people on recon, havnt seen that before. Jim I think they're waiting for something. *Cough* Anotehr sneak peak *Cough*

The photo is not even part of Scarlet. Its a marketing thing to get us talking about what it could be ;)

It's a RED herring...

Maybe it's just the battery charger...

maybe? all this flipping images made me think...

But why would it be asymetrical?

Both herring and a charger are symetrical... :sarcasm:

oh, really? is there a "define: camera" thread? really, I was discussing the red one's feature set and the proprietary nature of the accessories today and realized it would be nice to just have a bare-bones unit that could be accessorized at will. so add a redcode streaming codec to my above list and vöila, i'm a happy camper...i'd buy two...

You're talking about the SI mini... Readily available afaik.

The "what is a camera" thing is more of a philosphical debate. Where RED has taken the stand that it is a box with recognizeable functionability to a manual analogue photo-making-nice-pictures-with-box, also that all analogue, and som of the digital things we hook up to it should follow standards (except insisting on "p" instead of "psf" over SDI - which again is a principal standpoint)

Sorry... anything I post will give it away. The 13th is almost here. Worth the wait.

haha damn you had my hopes up. Seems like you guys are working awfully hard over there, all day and all night, so i'm sure we won't be disappointed.

So this means that one more piece to the puzzle will let us solve it. Any more ideas about the missing link?

C'mon Jim, you can't weasel out now. We promise we won't guess it right. :innocent:

Don't think the lens zoom control would be right above the record button. :turned:

the zoom is in a similar position on a ton of consumer point and shoot cameras.. readily accessible for the right thumb..

i'm just throwing something else into the mix..
