  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

a SHUTTERED DREAM... :( But there are others... ;)

Ketch, I'm so sorry to hear that your health issues will not allow you to complete an aspect of your dream. I am truly sorry. However, knowing you as I do from this forum, I know that you will get back on the path of fulfilling your other passion projects. Not that I even need to tell you this but, don't give up! I have the greatest confidence that you will achieve what your are setting out to do, with your many moviemaking endeavors.

Also please know that you have been and are a great inspiration to many people on this board, myself included. My life is greatly improved, and I'm working daily with my Red, doing what I love, in part because of the inspiration that I gleaned from you and a couple of other Redusers. In you, I think many of us see someone who is unafraid to follow his dreams without apology and that is quite inspiring! Best of luck to you and best of health.

However as many of you know form posts in the past years, I have a really big love for the Under Water World, and for this I have written few stories, and acquired some specialty gear,
as well as been on the list to be one of the very first in the world to get the Deep Atom form Gates as well as the Deep Epic, to film some serious Under water material for what would have been intended for
3D cinema.


UNFORTUNATELY....

I have more serious conditions then anticipated, and do to the current health status of my Kidney Transplant and related aggravated conditions, do to
the Immunosuppressant cocktail, which in the past year have caused some serious complications, Heart irregularity called Atrial filtration, do to a Heart Failure,
and two heart attacks, for which I am now extremely high on the risk of infarction, which is definitely not good, and even worst if it was to happen while under water,
bone density been diminished drastically, do to Osteoporosis with high risk of fractures, and for this, the accident in Miami shutter my knee so easily,
spinal bone marrow issues during decompression, Lungs issues to bread under pressure, with possible pulmonary baurotrama, a list of S%$#@ you don't want to even know about!! Including of course the higher risk of infections do to not been able to fight regular bacteria that leaves in the open waters.

So I now say good buy for good to that Dream, and bound to NEVER dive, and or film under water AGAIN!!

Fortunately I do have more then one DREAM, and I am still going strong, and will continue to amaze others as much as myself,
and I will re-focus some of that energy to other things, not easy, especially as one of the reasons of my return home to Italy was to enjoy the beautiful waters of Sardinia... :(

Bottom line is, if one DREAM shutters right before your eyes even after you put so much i to it... Keep going... Pursue an other DREAM!! I AM!!



THANK GOD EPIC AND 3D IS ALSO VERY GOOD ABOVE WATER... ;)



EDIT:

I need here to give a big thanks to Ross Isaac, which I was going to do some insane Underwater filming, and that He put some time in to getting a flu list of Scuba gear for deep diving, so thanks Ross, sorry this one will not work out for us, but I am sure there is something else out there waiting for us to work on together.. ;)

Yeah the sad part is that I was ready to leave for an intensive two months Master Diver certification in Sardinia... oh well.

That's heart breaking...literally. I feel sorry for you, Ketch. Don't give up. Keep healthy life style and I wish you fast recovery.

As soon as I shoot some 3D underwater footage with the new optical system, you will be the first to see it, Ketch.

Hey Ketch, not sure if you intended it since sometimes your spelling in English is very organic and how the word sounds to you ... but it's interesting and kinda cool that your post title says "shuttered" rather than "shattered."

Maybe just like a camera shutter, this dream is just closing briefly and will reopen again, giving you another chance someday when you least expect it.

Anyway, keep your head up as I know you will ... I'm sure there are going to be some beautiful girls out there very happy that you will have some extra time to be shooting them :)

So sorry to hear about this Ketch

I recently had surgery for a rare disease I have because I could barely swallow even water. It definitely sucks when your body isn't working right.

There are many amazing places above the water, I'm sure you'll find your place.

Hope you get better

Thanks Tim, I sure do leave by it!! For me its not what I do today that really matters much, but what it is remembered of me, that matters, and what is that my memories will Inspire people to do!!

Such is life Omar, but fortunately I always look at anything positive in life, and see other opportunities ahed, at the end what it is important is that every moment of what life we have is
considered as it was the last day, I DO, no assurance of awakening in the morning, and not just for me, so always make the best of every day.

Guys your words of kindness do make up for a big part of what I am going thru and ridiculous as it might sounds, given my really F%$#@ UP condition, I still considered my self a lucky man,
and on top of it al I have you guys to lean on and I do indeed gain courage and strength form all of your kind words of support, and also it kind of pushes me more as I fill that I do have an obligation to five
back to you al some results, and show strength and so I continue on day by day, braking a new barrier every day...

Ha ha,

well, you know that my Brain does some repeating errors, and for this I have kind of just let them be as I continue to do them no matter what, bout this one was a FRESH one ha ha,
not intended of course, just simply put the wrong word, but it does serve its purpose either way and I like its double sense that it serves here... ;)

Thank you for your inspiring post, Ketch.

It is very easy to become depressed when watching a dream die. It can cause so much pain.

Choosing to find and pursue another dream seems to be a wise choice for the artist that doesn't want to grow bitter.

wish to put up with me, then I will not need your support as much he he, just kidding you always will be my FAMILY away form home!!

Sam, for now till further tests, there will be no diving in open waters period, do to serious Bacteria concerns that could attack my system which is now rendered absolutely defenseless by all the meds I take... :(

Real sorry to hear that Ketch. May your immune response get better and better!

I have discovered that immune health is really influenced by the health and type of natural bacteria in your gut. And that by focussing on having a real healthy gut flora you can boost your immune system. E.g by taking the best probiotics etc.
