Ok so I've promised to share something with you and here it is. I mentioned I found a new case designer in the states.

I love my gear.. I'm a gear head.. It's not enough for me to store a piece of kit, I want to SHOW OFF a piece of kit.. And protecting it is nice too.

So... I started talking to my good friend Jason Comparetto about the best (I.E. coolest) case one could make. We did a lot of research and put together elements from our favorite stuff. Jason is more wired for doing this sort of thing, so I let him run with it.

Now let me be clear.. These things are not "cheap" They are meant to be custom designed from the ground up. That takes time, and that costs money. There are some ways to save by numerous people ordering a specific design. So a group buy could work. Also he is not really designing the "cases" as much as he's designing the inserts.. So if you already have the case, he can just give you the new super-cool insert.

If you are a member of Infotech, there will be group buys. If you are a PAID member, then there will be a discount on top of that.

If you are into rental, then these cases are idiot-proof (Under the current model of idiot... Cause once you make something "idiot proof" someone makes a better idiot).

Soon I have no doubt Jason will jump in and we'll all start our planning and drooling.. Until then here are some photos:

Can you design one with the 9" and 5" touch?

reminds me of tron, or an old school arcade cabinet

Very nice! I need a case for my run and gun doc style rig.

You just changed the way cases are gonna be made for so many.

Jason's a smart guy. Been able to talk to him recently about a few other things he has in the works. He seems to have a knack for doing things that are weirdly obvious yet overlooked.

How customizable will these cases be? I'm a bit of a freak for organization, and these cases look absolutely great. The only thing that's kept me from ordering cases in the past - either from RED, CinemaOxide, or others - is that I either don't have everything there are spaces for, or I have more of certain items than the cases can fit.

Hi Nathaniel, everything can be customized from the number holes, layout, patterns, colors, and labels. Just contact me directly so we can begin designing a case to accomodate your gear. jason@CinemaOxide.com

JUST received mine today, which is the new standard (the first picture on page 1). Jason is a master, and the quality is unmatched anywhere else you look! I have no doubt I'll be ordering more cases from him for my other gear!

These are rather lovely. I don't want to think dirty thoughts about camera cases, but..... This is nice work.
