  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

$9,500 for epic...

However has it occurred to anyone what will replace it once Dragon is available off the shelf ? Now think really hard what that could be ......yep Epic. Epic is destined IMO to become the "new Scarlet at a scarlet price point" . ...its coming, how soon who nows maybe 2015 but one way or another its going to happen.

The Scarlet > Epic path is almost to good to pass up. If one is actually shooting creative work and making money from their camera it becomes an absolute no-brainer.
It's a pretty awesome deal, I mean what company is going to give you nearly the original cost of your camera towards a better camera...two years after you bought the thing?!

I expect to work off the cost of the new Epic in the next month or two, well before any Dragon even becomes an option.

Scarlet on its way to Uk. Epic should be home next week. Hope all those who chose the trade in are doing great with the epic.

Just one quick question pls. Can i shoot high fps on the grey 48gbs cards? Given it is at 6:1 or more compression. Thanks

I was just fine shooting with my Scarlet for my website but now I'm branching out into short independent film. I came across a direct comparison of the Epic vs Scarlet and the difference to my eyes is really worth the upgrade. Thankfully I'm elgible. The money I saved for the new Mac Pro now gets invested into the Epic. As a side note, I upgraded my slow 2010 Mac Pro with a new processor 3.33 Gz 6 core for just $500 on ebay. Geekbench goes from 8200 to 15000. The nMP is 20000. I can live with that. Epic, here I come baby! :driving:
