Yes. Order the 6K now and additional 8K preorder if you want to go there.

Interesting sensor dimensions. Wider but not as tall as full frame. Anamorphic lenses should get their full coverage in a 4:3 window now though and resolution on them will be a big step over Alexa 4:3 with the benefit of RAW workflows that are sensible (I.e. Compression options so the project doesn't kill it on storage requirements and offload speed needs).

I'm still looking forward to RED's 65mm camera system though.. ;-)

An 8K Vista sensor I could use, now we're talking something that IS interesting to me.

But I'm not prepared to buy a CF body I don't need or want, to get it! What's the deal there, how do we get this sensor in a standard body? A CF body on a volcano is just asking for trouble, Jarred. I couldn't even if I wanted to. But I do want 8K

The 8k Woven Carbon Fiber option is live on RED.com.

The Forged Carbon version you see in the video I am only making a few of these... it's an insanely expensive process. But unlike anything you have ever seen.

Please let your guys make a production clip of the process if at all possible... It looks amazing.
Is there a difference in the material strength when forging CF?
