  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

7" Touch LCD

I placed my order on 9/1 as well and originally had a ship date of 10/26 but its been pushed back to mid November. womp

Update: got a shipping notification this afternoon, despite being told over email that wasn’t happening haha.

I've seen them go out in spatterings, they just started shipping. Have mine here.

Initially I was rather worried the length of the 15mm pan/tilt bracket was going to be an issue with my cases, but happy to report it's the same total height as the DSMC2 display.

It's a different interface from DSMC2, which will take some getting used to for some. But it's very, very nice to have things at your fingertips again. Plus the custom function keys.

Phil, can you add custom framerates to the drop-down framerate menu via the DSMC3 Touch?

90% sure that comes with with the "timelapse" firmware update. Which if I'm not mistaken is November. I just shot off another long list of feature requests today.

I'd love to see a Phil touchscreen walk through video, since even red doesn't have one. I ordered from my dealer so I think getting mine is still is a ways off. Its not clear to me if you can do everything on the touchscreen that you can do from the side menu or if there are limitations currently. and how usable is it in the sun?

Very usable in the sun, though it's a pretty reflective screen. I actually keep it in studio/rec709 mode the most. Has some quirks, but you have access to the full menu more or less. I've suggested a few additions and I think the interesting bit of having the SmallHD menu and panels in there is going to be the learning curve for many. Still sort of finding the stride of what I like using as it's a new concept. Color looks good and the monitor does ship calibrated, which is a plus.

Same, looks like mine is coming in Tuesday next week. Ordered it on 9/3.

Hi! Is anyone having issues with the DSMC3 RED Touch ? When I turn the camera on - the monitor goes "pink" color and can't change anything. When I press record - the screen is still pink but it records fine. When I go to preview the clip - it plays normally.

09/01/2021 around 4PM EST

We ordered our camera on 9/1 just about 30 mins after you could make an order. We got the 7 inch touch screen on 11/1.
We were told it would ship on 10/25 but they never sent a shipping notice. I inquired on 10/29 and they said it went out the day before. We were out on location that week so we had it held at the FedEx location for us to pickup.

It is really nice! I am trying to find a way to protect it in our case for travel.
The part that is different from the previous touch monitors is you actually need to use a hex wrench to attach it every time.
