Well in fact you can take any 5K or 6K footage and crop it to 4K.

Yep, would love to see some...I just do not currently own a Dragon. I sold my MX recently as well.

Just wondering if anyone has any links to resolution crop examples on youtube or vimeo. It might help some of the questions about crop factors by putting some visuals to it.

I'm sure its going to look really great. Might be nice to put the numbers aside for some and show some images. I just don't have resolution examples of my own for the Dragon sensor.

I have never lost a shot on a REDmag

That's funny, because I've never lost a shot on sd/cf cards.

Some of the interesting situations they have survived:

Shotgun to a gopro
White water rapids with a pocket full of SD's
CF card inside a 5D getting run over by a truck
Falling 30' off an icewall
5D going for a swim in the ocean

[/devilsadvocate]

Just sayin

edit: not against any of the pricing, just saying I've never lost a shot :)

Raven will be great. Something tells me that we are not finished with boring pointless slowmo footages.

Absolutely 100% NOTHING wrong with this shot...or countless others...but maybe that's not fair.

Gunleik will go you one better... he still wistfully remembers back to the R-1 M sensor. '-)

Better understanding your POV, I get it why you asked the question you did.

ADDITIONAL: But with the Dragon you also get Dragon specific REDCINE tools that offers you limitless ways to change your capture.

Ahaha! I wish i was here back in the early days! But i'm still a kid in the game ;)

About the Dragon sensor, i'm still waiting for the project (movie or commercial) that blew my mind, it has not happened yet..

Haha! Your funny. Have you ever recorded REDcode on those sd/cf cards?

I posted some earlier in here. Check under my posts.

David Fincher's "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", no pun intended, was shot with both Red One MX and Epic Dragon. Can you tell me which shots were from which sensor? Beautiful film regardless.

That being said, he has resources that most here can't touch most notably in the post processing world. So the look of the film goes way beyond sensor decisions. But hey, he did assemble and work in Adobe AE and Premier. Think about it.:001_smile:

Fincher Films.

Gone Girl - Epic Dragon
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - RED One + Epic Mysterium-X
Social Network - RED One Mysterium-X

Correct, it was Red One MX + Red Epic X (4.5K and 5K)

EDIT: Dang it, too slow. :P

My apologies, Quarter of the film on Epic X is correct. Trying to work and be a part of the thread...maybe a little to pumped up today. Oops!

...but now I have your attention! I guess..

My point was lost in my mistake. As Phil points out, Gone Girl was shot on Dragon. Gone Girl was beautiful and should be enough to get anyones attention.
