Assuming this is the next Scarlet (in a Weapon body and Dragon sensor), more than $5k for the brain probably won't gain marketshare (just get people who weren't willing to upgrade their Scarlets for $9500). Plus there are plenty of really strong 4k/raw options available around that price that are fully loaded out of the box (14+stops, ND built-in, raw/encoded simultaneously, lightweight, low-energy, etc.) Again, the brain could be free, but when you still to have to buy $5k worth of accessories it's a lot less enticing (whereas other cameras use inexpensive media and small batteries that last 4 hours).
To be honest, 4k Dragon is a smaller sensor than 4k MX, and ultimately boils down to less-than-4k debayer, so I'm hoping for ~4.5k+ 2:1 Dragon at 60fps... Was also hoping for a ~3.5lbs body/~5lbs shootable, but that won't happen, as v-mounts are ~1.5-2lbs, plus lens, plus monitor... ends up being 7.5lbs, which is still quite heavy... If its less modular, they should be able to make it lighter, right? (still don't understand how making it a fixed mount is somehow cheaper to produce, though...)
