  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

3 weeks...

My bet is that after our November 3rd announcement... we will never, ever, be out of back-order. Ever. Really. Never... ever.

Jim

So, 930 will be rendered obsolete and i'll queue up for new kit on nov 3rd?

My hope is still for the all-in-one-compact-cheap-handheld-ergonomical-all-in-one supplement to the Epic with fixed optics.

But I see the tide going other ways...

I wouldn't mind 4k+, though...

I just hope 2/3rds doesn't change. go to town on everything else though...

November 3rd will likely be the single most important announcement in RED's history. Don't miss it... even if you never intend on buying a camera.

Jim

These messages are driving me NUTS and having sleepless nights... I am already spending whole lot of time checking every thread on reduser.net. I fear i might not only loose my job but also get divorced soon. I don't want to get into this before I can lay my hands on a Red Scarlet or Epic-S.

That is a huge statement. Your possibly about to get orders in for 5,000 + cameras? Does this mean you have purchased someone else with massive manufacturing capabilities. Or has some bought/tied up with RED who has massive manufacturing that can divert a production line to just make RED products?

I think this is THE most important statement Jim has made and he loves giving clues! Could this mean Stage 4 by Christmas?

Can't bare the tension!

This is terribly exciting! When Scarlet was first introduced I was a dreamer thinking about making documentaries. Since then, I volunteered, worked my way up as an assistant, and am now working full-time as a camera operator and producer. So now that I'm ready to invest in Red, Scarlet is finally coming!

Serendipity has come again and I have been offered a steady opportunity to take concert photography for a magazine. So now it's absolutely DSMC for me! I'm so hoping that I can use one camera for both jobs.

Doesn't matter how, don't really care at this point.

Jim said it, Jarred gave specific dates of Backorders filled, let's just roll with it.

Please reread his quote.... he says they will NEVER be OUT of back order.

I think it is his tounge in cheek way of saying that this product is going to be crazy popular for many years. at least I hope it is tounge in cheek! My biggest fear of RED is being stuck on back order for a year.

Thankfully, i'm in no rush to buy, so will wait for the dust to settle and see how orders are moving.

Jeepers you are so right. I just read what I wanted to hear. Darn, darn & darn!

It's very impotent that Scarlet should have main feature (playback, HDMI, HD-SDI, Audio, Genlock, all recording compression options, 120fps, etc,...just all)

fully functional and enabled from its day one of announcement and shipping (November 3rd, 2011).

That means we could easily deal with many third party accessories just in a case that RED has backorder of some of them at the time of place order...

I completly agree, even based on it's original specs, the Scarlet(s) seem an awesome tool for a creative-bods bag!:)

Although, when was the last time Red didn't exceed expectation? :)

Some of you could use reading comprehension remedial classes and maybe glasses.

I love RED!

Jim is a bastard of a tease though!
