1TB and 512GB Mini Mag are the same compression.

240GB Mini Mag is a "slow" card.

If I would have known I wouldn't have bought it. It's even stated above by Red in this thread that the data rates are the same, but this is not true.

Charles, engineering is looking in to it. Could be that with current firmware they are a little slower but we anticipate 240 will get up to 512 and 1TB speeds in a future release to make them all same. I also have them looking to see how increased speeds on Weapon will play with each of the mags....

I've seen 8K FF at 5:1, if we can hit 8K FF at 4:1 that would be lovely for 24fps shooting. Don't know if that's possible, but some folks are shooting 4:1 a lot on the Mini-Mags these days. Especially anamorphic peeps.

4:1 would be awesome, but 5:1 is still fantastic. I pretty much shoot everything at 4:1 today. It does chew up the disc space.

Good to know. I don't think the arri master prime anamorphics will cover on 8k much more then 6/5, so I will be shooting at that. Currently get 3:1 on that now and find 4:1 excellent, so hoping the 6/5th is 4:1 on 8k. Really i'm getting about 25% more height with the 8k, so I'm thinking it should be 4:1 (i might need to clip a bit of the height for vignetting, so could be shooting at 7.5k). Almost everything i do is 24p, so I think I might need to stay with the 500 gig mini mags though. I'm finding i really need the 512 anyway, shooting with the low RC - i probably really should be cutting over to the 1T minimags, it's a kind of mental thing for me to realize i need to start cutting over to that size(since it feels so large in my brain, heck i can remember when gas was 35 cents a gallon ... etc).
