  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

2012 Price Adjustment reminder ( and some extensions )

I'm falling in love with the dual battery module.. the quad is great for long durations but the dual just feels good... and hot swapping batteries back and forth is pretty addictive. Im going to need to find some beta testers soon :)

Hey big guy, I think I will see you at NAB. I just wanted to let you know if you still need a beta tester I think I can manage the time. So far I have personally gotten RED in on 3 undergrad shoots, 4 grad shoots and pretty proud of that. I have also converted some other film folks from my class who went off and rented a RED after I brought my baby to school.

One at a time, they will run one down then automatically switch to the other.. so you just pull the dead one out.
What's the charge drain priority between the side handle and the dual battery module?

come to think of it what about between the side handle and the red brick? Which battery is used first?

Closing in on March 1st quickly.

16 days till Dual Battery Module (I hope so)!

Yeah, I'm wondering too about the 3/1 price increase for the Pro I/O. It's coming up fast and that's a module I REALLY want. I will definitely want to order before the price increase.
Guess I'll keep checking every day for updates :)

Any update on the pro i/o module? It's getting close to the end of February and no preorder info.

Just making sure I haven't missed anything, as I will be placing my Epic package order under the wire on Wednesday. I don't see any mention of REDvolts and the single charger in Jared's original post, so I assume those prices are going to stay the same come Thursday?

This is from a few days ago.

Items not yet in the store qualify as "in backorder".

Hope this helps, Elizabeth.

Thanks, Peter. I was actually asking about items IN the store (REDvolts and a single charger), but I guess I'm just paranoid and wanted to make sure I hadn't missed a pending price increase on those. I was all set to go strictly V-mount, because I already own those batteries and a charger and I like the idea of weight distribution behind the shoulder when going hand held. But then I was reading threads on the side handle and several people said it's worth the money just to have continuous power when you're switching out V-mount batteries or perhaps needing to disconnect AC for a quick untethered shot. I hadn't thought of it in those terms, and then when you add in the ability to go super lightweight, I decided a side handle and small investment in REDvolts was in order. But if the prices were going to jump on the batteries, I probably would opt for a 4-pack instead of the two that come with the power pack. Now I can relax, see how I like both options, and if I decide to order more REDvolts, I won't pay a premium I could have avoided.

REDVOLTs and chargers are not going up in price :)

I want to do the beta testing in Japan with Japanese voltage. We have many TV drama and short film and feature film jobs coming in.

I don't understand and I'm completely confused ... we are approaching March 1rst and where can we order the PRO I/O Module before the price goes up ?

Do we gave to call RED and make a reservation by phone call ?

Jarred said that they won't be increasing prices on anything until they're available to purchase... and that there will be no pre-orders on the IO module.

Correct, Gavin. Since it seems like most units where a price increase would affect them are still on backorder, they will not go up in price tomorrow.

Will there be a warning shot across the bow before the price does increase? I mean like an email blast heads-up.
