  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

1st Scarlet....

I just want to say thanks again Tonaci for posting everything you have already! I just spent some time grading and exporting to prores to create a quick motion clip of the fun I was having in Redcine-X, here it is!

I like the last one, it has some grain and a filmic look, could do with a touch more blacks.

I am actually surprised how fast my macbook pro 15"(newest version) was able to handle the footage.

p.s. I got my hands on a Red Epic at work today, it was so cool!!! still can't wait to get our two scarlets and many accessories

I would like to thank Jim, Jarred and the entire RED team as my first ever RED camera was delivered today, on Battleship Grey Friday. I've been under the weather the last couple of days, so I didn't shoot much today. I'll post some shots in the next few days as my family and I are getting back up to speed.

Thanks again, Jim and Jarred. I will thank you more formally in person at the next RED event I attend. God Bless you and may everyone at RED enjoy this short time off.

Best Wishes,

Adam

Today, I am visiting family who live in the countryside of Vietnam. This portrait was shot 4K 24fps on Scarlet X. My third video will be up later on tonight featuring people. I will upload this R3D so you can apply your own look to this photo. This, to me, hits home the DSMC concept.

Fourth video will cover low light situations. More to come. =)

Tonaci you're a godsend with these uploads. It helps all of us a lot

No change.
Compression ratio is only one of many factors that make up the limits.

Deanan - One think I haven't figured out is whether compression is harder on the system, or easier, relative to overall ASIC performance. In other words, does pushing the compression higher (say, 10:1 vs, 6:1) make it harder to squeeze higher frame rates or would that make it easier to do so. Thanks in advance if you can clear up my confusion. :cheers2:

Many already have a PL mount and/or a Titanium Canon mount for their Epic. Can the option be offered to buyers of the AL Canon mount Scarlet package to take delivery of the body ... even if the aluminum mount is delayed beyond December 1st?

That Portrait is Amazing! I love the look, that canon lens is one of my favorite, so sharp
