  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

17-50mm RED Pro Zoom...

there was a good question in your deleted post Jeff.. the 18mm is the opposite.. it will indeed ship by order of delivery date of Prime sets.

Yeah, but I meant to just post it in the 18mm RPP thread. and then got sidetracked. Anyway, thanks for the answer. :)

I'm not exactly sure what you are saying here... but the glass in the 17-50mm Pro zoom is completely different than the 18-50mm Standard zoom. I can attest that there is not one element the same between the two lenses.

Jim

i meant sir ur PRO series lenses have a better quality glass then this 18-50mm lens? cuz i just bought it and im wondering if its ok or not if its not PRO.

thats all :)

by the way Marko is an amazing guy. he really made sure i choose the right thing. amazing stamina and patience. :) thanks man

Ché was shot with the 18-50mm RED zoom.

Jim

And it's already quite a good lens for the price!

I love what I've seen of the RPPs, except the weight. This little beauty, however...this is going to be part of my kit. How you got the weight down so much is beyond me.

How wide

How wide

Can you give us the spec sheet esspecially how wide in degrees the 17-50 lense is and...at 5.6f what would the average depth of field be on a outside cloudy day shot thanks..kozz

You can calculate your field of view fairly easily. Horizontal FOV= 2(arctan(Y/Z)) where Y= 1/2 sensor width and Z= Focal Length.

For depth of field, google Depth of Field calculator. It's rather more complicated to calculate, but there are tools out there.
