Anyone at NAB hear anything about 120fps on the Scarlet as it is??

For a company that is all about super high resolution (among other things) I fail to see the logic in adding 120fps @ 1k to the Scarlet-X at all.
Let's not make a 3k camera because its not high enough resolution. Instead lets make a 4k camera and add a SUB HD option. :emote_whack:
Don't get me wrong, I like RED but, Whats the point?

Indeed. I think 120@2K should be very possible, since the amount of data from 120fps@2K is the same as 30fps@4K which the Scarlet currently does.I agree Tim in regards to 1K 120, it does make little sense. What makes far more sense is to see if they can work some magic and get 120 to 2K. 120fps 2K raw, even widowed, will very competitively place Scarlet in the high speed stakes.
Yes. In 2 weeks we are releasing a pretty monumental build for Scarlet and Epic... Apart from a bunch of other goodies, additional resolutions will appear... including the high frame rate 1K on scarlet.
That'd blow my face my off!2.35 by 1 5K 24 fps Please Jim make it happen on Scarlett
2.4:1 5K 24fps could probably happen, since it's once again the same amount of data as 4K 30fps (and 2K 120fps).2.35 by 1 5K 24 fps Please Jim make it happen on Scarlett
It is not about DATA RATE it is about sensor readout pipeline. To be honest - don't really think it is possible with existing logic board, it is not that easy. But it is still a chance it is going to happen![]()
