  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

10 Scarlet Questions with Joseph Hutson... Take 2.

Package details will be announced when we are a bit closer.

Hehe... I just had a discussion today with a local "broadcast engineer" who didn't know the difference between a megabit and a megabyte... They're out there.

Yeah, us old farts don't understand all this new fangled dye-geet-al stuff.:sifone:

There was mention of a major software build due sometime about now. How is the image quality looking? The 120fps demo looked pretty good, but I hope the end result will have more Epic like color qualities.

I just finished installing a 1080p Digital Projection M-Vision in a new BMW board room here in SC. The Epic demo reel looked spectacular running in 1080p off the HDMI output of my laptop on a 160" screen. Love to see it in 4k someday.

Hi Jarred, I saw that someone else posted this question, but it never got answered. I am also wondering about frame rates. I know that the Scarlet is doing 120fps. Are there any plans to make a burst rate that is higher?

Cheers

I believe that it has already been stated that there will in fact be a burst rate higher than 120fps (what it will be I don't know) on the SCARLET. :)

Ah OK, it's just that I saw the Philip Bloom test at 300fps, and I wondered if the Scarlet might be doing the same. FPS is the primary reason I want Scarlet, so 300 would be off the chart. And anything else that is shooting that high is either utter crap (that Casio thing), or mega expensive.

I wouldn't expect it to do 300fps. That would be insane though! 150fps sound very reasonable - but you never know what the guys at RED might be cooking up in the lab ;)

Nothing going on in Copenhagen tonight then? hehe

Nope, haha :D

Luckily I'm not a TAKE THAT fan, as they bailed on their concert here in Copenhagen right at the last minute, leaving their fans standing right outside the gate. So I kinda feel that I'm better off here ;D haha!

Will the Scarlet Removable have the same back focus adjustment that the Epic has? How much travel does Epic (Scarlet?) sensor block have? Thanks.

Jarred,

Any way you guys could announce the Scarlet ship date with enough lead time for us to save up [and not buy a different camera]. Couple months at least would be SO NICE. Looking forward to seeing what you've been busy on.

Murray

Based on what he said in the first post not to ask....i'd speculate the answer to this will probably never be answered.
