Jarred has been creating a thread for an hour now! What does that mean?

Now, does that mean that there will be more wobble/skew because the sensor is smaller? I was under the impression that read reset times on smaller sensors had to be faster to mitigate rolling shutter artifacts.

I don't think it would be any different. The entire sensor is read in 5ms - whether it be S35 or 2/3". So, the final skew will be 5ms worth from the top to the bottom. Jarred has given us the final read/reset time.

In fact, if you think about it, it is easier for a smaller sensor to achieve lesser skew assuming the read time for a single line is constant. Let's think about in a crude manner - A 5K sensor has to read 5000 lines from top to bottom. A 2K sensor has to read 2000 lines. It is quite obvious which of these sensors is likely to read/reset faster. Translating to the real world, there are likely to be several other factors and other bottlenecks. 5ms is the final value, a very respectable read/reset time and is pretty much ideal, really.

hey yeah sorry guys.. the NY trip with Epic caught me by surprise and havn't been able to put a shoot together yet.. let me think of how i can pull this off without my wife killing me :)

Don't sweat it. As long as you keep us in the loop (which I know you will) I don't care I don't see footage this weekend. Although If you can find away to shoot a bit and avoid death, Please do.

Offer to make her a candle lit dinner with champagne, the only catch is she has to let you film it. Low light test along with high speed for the ejecting cork

Trevor, your post was a perfectly good one. Decent. You painted a fine picture, and a pertinent one. Still, as a long married man, a certain other picture sprang to my mind. No offense intended, so let's re-light the candles and ... . (:

heh heh i love you guys...

Mr's Wescott and Brown, i accept! gimme a few days to wrangle enough candles to fill my 6000' studio and a call to NASA to borrow some of the worlds fastest glass. but im in,i like it i like it alot, and im in the good fortune to have the time and the means to actually pull something like this off. probably a good segway to my next introduction, Mr Jarred Land, Keith j. Jeff Coatney and my RED genius Matt Steinaour whos become my first will vogue for us and how we do things.good people over there at infinite siege. i hope to hear from ya my man. and sterling and trev, and anyone else interested your more than welcome.my studio and our trucks are in Dtown L.A..
