  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

+1 Module shipping next week

I don't think so, because to my eye the one in your link has one connection to the 1/4-20" at the bottom
of the camera and the one you seek does not.

Hehehe. Most of them have these. You just take them off

You are correct, sir!

:)

And here comes the first request for new Battery Accessory... ;)

With this new super great light and small set up, I really can now make use of a V-Lcok Battery Plate that quick releases on to the +1 Module just like any Module quick releases it self on the Module Adaptor.... For now I gather a spare L bracket and mount the Viewfactor IDX-Apu plate this way... ;)

Oh, and a 36" Cable, have and love the pairs of the 7", 12" and 6' (72"), but with this new set up, a 36" would be real sweet... As currently form 12" to 72" is a big jump... ;)

well i think with the BACKPACK ADAPTOR PLATE this seems already possible if taking any v mount plate red or other vendor and screwing it on. just dont know yet if it fits scre wise. and then of course sadyl there is still the dc cable dangling around. so directly to pins would be awesome, all integrated in one lock on module with one torx screw.

according to the DSMC Quick Plate module thread, http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?83011-DSMC-Quickplate-Module!&p=1160973#post1160973 it might be still in the works, but no confirmation or hint from red yet ;)

Yea that I know, but I only need and make use of the Single V-Lock Battery Plate, no other adaptors or plates to add weight and size needed, then when the Meizler gets here, I'll have two perfect set ups... ;)

The +1 MONITOR ADAPTOR Operation Guide is now available for download on RED.com/downloads here.

I agree with Ketch. Something that gives you the absolute smallest and lightest possible 'full' setup. It is up to you if that is an EVF and a small LCD, EVF and 9", two small, one small one 9"... depends on the situation. I just love that you can have so much flexibility and insane power in a small package; a'la nuclear toaster made by da Vinci... 1.21GW to be exact.

Shi# that's straight from the future. And it came out a while ago already. I bet there will be some high speed bodies made by RED in the near future. Nothing more than additional horsepower for higher framerates. Maybe also a cool red badge ;)

Can't wait for Dragon

Got mine today. Suddenly the camera feels so much more... complete? Loving my compact setup!!

So the Viewfactor IDX-APU plate will not attach to the back of this +1 module?

What "L-bracket" works for you, Ketch?

No Peter, the VF IDX-Apu plate is made to clip on to the hard mounted screws on the back of the Brain, not the Module Adaptor or the +1 Module which are really by all means of build one and the same.

So what I did is recycle and old R1 part form the ET's V-Lock mounting systems found on the ISO plate and various Battery mounts a simple "L" Bracket which mounts on the top back of the VF plate that has several threaded holes and the back end of the RED Top Plate, perfect fit.

Do the rear LCD menus allow for assignment of alternate display functions or is the second LCD simply mirroring the primary? For example, a user look on #1' and a focus tool on #2?

Also, does anyone yet have a feel for how much additional power is consumed, how long will a brick last powering two 5" LCD's?

Looking at the instruction manual, am I correct is assuming the EVF is counted as a second "control surface", therefore will not work to make changes if the LCD is chosen as primary?

Will the +1 bring new life to my Preston Red Microforce cable? Will it trigger the camera?

Well mine arrived and I can't get it to work. I enabled the Brain HDMI as the top priority in the menu, but when ever I power up the camera with my 9" Red monitor hooked up to the +1 module I get nothing but a blank screen.

I tried 3 different evf cables, no dice.

thought I saw that you need to be on beta build 4.8 or higher to enable +1 functionality.
