Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
The Linus crew seems to have changed their tune (albeit it with some issues):

They make a very valid point. Cheap redundant media makes a lot more sense than expensive MiniMags.
A few quick questions:
Do you jam timecode each time you change the frame rate, or just when changing the project time base?
Also how bad does DSMC2 drift when changing batteries or going into sleep mode?
Thanks!
Mint condition Zoom F4. Used once for a project, and been kept inside the box since.

SD just updated the MixPre line, including the MixPre-3 & MixPre-6 mixer/recorders. There's a lot to like with these units, especially the analog limiters, however I'm curious how they stack up to the Zoom F4 and F8.
I noticed in the following youtube video...
I've been looking for a decent deal on an MKH-50 for awhile. Any one looking to unload theirs?
Also looking for an internally cabled K-Tek boompole. Preferably carbon/graphite.
Thanks!
I'm selling my LongValley Seven Jib (compact XL). Supports 60lbs and folds down to just 33" for easy transportation. Takes just a minute or two to setup. I've used numerous jibs over the years, and this is by far my favorite.
Comes with the main jib, under slung bracket, and 75mm bowl adapter...
I did a solo shoot awhile back with a Matthews artificial silk on an 8x8ft butterfly frame. High winds were a problem, which resulted in the silk becoming rather dirty. I packed it up after the shoot and flew home, only to store it and forget about it entirely. After neglecting it for months, I...
I'm selling my beloved Sound Devices MixPre-D (newer digital version). For anyone new to location sound, this portable field mixer has some of the best pre-amps that money can buy, and also includes an unbalanced TA3 mic level output that is ideal for feeding audio into Raven/ScarletW/Weapon...

I'm a huge proponent of FoolControl, and Mikael has done an amazing job at developing the app. That being said, the internal antenna on the DSMC2 cameras ...well, kind of sucks. WC announced a very elegant solution at Cinegear last week, which will be shipping next month for $500. It's on my...
I have a Wooden Camera A-Box for sale. It's the version that has dual 1/8" mini jacks (each XLR converts directly to its respective 1/8" counterpart). Has typical sings of use. Retails for $200, asking $110 shipped.
If you have DSMC2 (Raven/Scarlet/Weapon), then this is ideal for passing XLR...
Interesting read. Kinefinity is launching new 5K and 6K cameras, which appear to be heavily influenced by the new Red DSMC2 design.
Given the shipping delays, inefficient Kine RAW format, the sheer bloat of 5K/6K ProRes, and seemingly nonexistent support for Kinefinity in the Western...
I have an unused Davinci Resolve dongle. It doesn't include the software CD, but it's compatible with the newest versions of Resolve (v12 Studio included) which can be downloaded from the BMD website.
$350 shipped anywhere in North America.
