  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

"Missing Security Token"

Possibly unrelated, but the URLs in the thread subscription notification emails need to be fixed.

If you logged in to www.reduser.net before, posted some messages, then receive a notification (because someone else posted in the same thread) and click one such link, you won't get automatically logged in, because the link points to reduser.net instead. I'm pretty sure many people have a nasty combination of www and non-www cookies on their systems, which can only make things more confusing when troubleshooting forum issues.

Stay consistent. Set all the links to www.reduser.net and configure the Apache web server (that is, not the forum, but the server, before the browser even hits the forum) to redirect non-www links to www. Or the other way round. Pick one and stay with it.

This is true for scarletuser.com too.
 
FireFox 'security token'

FireFox 'security token'

Firefox has never been a source of consternation for with the 'security token' issue. I have switch to Opera when using RedUser.net. Explorer seems to work without hiccup, I defer to Opera.

Also, I would love to have my username changed to Michael Halsell (with the space). Actually I would love to get my original posting status I had under the account of AngrySeven. I had a bit of bad luck with 'real name' issue/change. I don't want to piss Jim off anymore than does his regular daily allowance of building cameras.

i am having the same problem. last firefox version on macbookpro. already clened cookies and had the same problem.
On my firefox PC winxp no token problems with my account
 
There is something weird going on with this that is causing it not to be corrected as it should have been numerous times using my fixes. I'm going to have to ask for a bit of patience as I continue to try to sort this out.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Should have been fixed about 5 times already, but is still posing a problem for a segment of users on firefox. Which is kind of strange. It's usually going to be most everyone or no one at all.

I'll update when I have something to update. Thanks for your patience. At least it's just on log in now rather than all the time for those of you having this issue.

P.S: Nothing helped so far. I can't access my USER CP at all.
 
send me a pm felix... i have a workaround/temp fix for you until I can get to a permanent one.

anyone else feel free to pm me also... might be a few days to a week before I can rid the forum sof this once and for all. in the meantime, I haave a workaround that will work for you.

I have found a little trick for this... Just before the "Missing Security Token" screen comes up, there is a split second when the actual page is displayed, so I hit the backspace button and click on one of the links before the "Missing Security Token" screen reloads, and everything seems to work again...

Of course if your having this problem, chances are you aren't reading this anyway... ;)
 
can i please get someone who is still having the security token issue to pm me so I can test something.
