Birger Lens Mount Reservations

Anyone in Boston need directions to Birger?

http://www.birger.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=contact

Birger Engineering is located near the corner of Chauncy and Summer Streets.
Getting to Birger Engineering... By Public Transportation:

All major MBTA subway lines a served by stations within a few blocks walking distance from Birger Engineering. The nearest T stations: (A) Downtown Crossing Station - Orange Line, Red Line & Silver Line (South End); (B) Park Street Station - Green Line; and (C) South Station - Silver Line (Airport), Amtrak & Commuter Trains.

If traveling through Logan airport, the easiest way to get to downtown Boston is to take the Silver Line Bus from your airline terminal to South Station. Though a longer walk, this will be much faster than the taking the Massport shuttle to Airport Station, to then take the Blue Line to State, and then take the Orange Line to Downtown Crossing.

still nothing here...

Or here

Erik emailed me (yesterday) to say that ... QUOTE 'It was tested and packaged on Saturday. Your tracking will be out later today."

No idea what the delay is now ??? ... it's worse than pulling teeth ...

See, it's not so bad to have given hope up entirely. Accept your fate. It's sort of like the end of Katherine Kubler-Ross's five stages of grief:

1. Denial: "There's no way the Birger mount won't be shipped in time for my next project."

2. Anger: "Where in the heck is my Birger mount?!?!"

3. Bargaining: "Please, Erik. I promise I'll send you a box of chocolates if you'll only send me my Birger mount."

4. Depression: "I'm so sad about my Birger mount, I don't even know what to do."

5. Acceptance: "There's nothing I can do about it now. I guess I'll get my Birger mount when it gets here."

So. . . where are you on the Birger scale? Me? I guess I'm at #5.

Stephen

Thanks very much, Martin. . .

:-)

Stephen, yes, nice sense of humor combined with a clever assesment of the situation. And yes, I'm also at stage #5.

You know what would be really cool is if Erik set up a videocam in the Birger shop so that we could watch them working throughout the day.

Nice to know. Thanks.

Hey Ralf, things just not adding up here - I ordered on June 25th 2008 and Amy sent me confirmation on August 22 with the numbers 114.250932.

I fully understand Eric not wanting his competitors to know how many orders he's received to date, but leaving his customers in the dark is hard to stomach, no matter how good we've all become at this waiting game!!!

tested... check

packed.... check

packages sat on desk... check

I can almost hear my Birger mount singing to me now. . . and he sounds exactly like Bing Crosby singing the last line from the 1941 Christmas classic, "I'll be home for Christmas":

"I'll be home for Christmas. . . if only in my dreams."

But that's probably just my Stage 5 talking to me again.

6. Boredom. Reading posts by other Birger Mount wannabe owners going through one of the five stages.
