Can you adjust Focus, Zoom and Iris simultaneously?

Can you adjust Focus, Zoom and Iris simultaneously?

Hi Curt

Can you adjust Focus, Iris and Zoom simultaneously or is it one at a time?

Thanks
John

Curt, I went ahead and ordered the Impero and Inclino and wanted to know if it's ok if I order the cables before they ship? Or should I do that now? BTW My discover card worked :)
You can order it now or just wait. We will have an option to buy the cables separately.

Holy shit!! Curt, am I reading this correctly? $900 motor+$89cable+$775 = $1764 for a complete wireless FF solution?? Then only $1800 more for ff+iris+zoom? Wow!!!! You're the first 3rd party vendor I've seen that's actually following the Red pricing revolution too :-)
Thanks Shawn, we try our best to price things as if we were buying them ourselves.

Shawn,
When you get the 2nd and 3rd motors, you'll need the pro controller too...

But having said that. Yeah I agree. When I watched the C-Motion presentation at IBC2007 I fell for the idea of wireless FF... I love that we can get a Redolution kit!!!

I hope that the VBs come up with their own cinetape device that works with the remote FF and will give us depth of field and such on the screen, like the C-Motion... that is a super cool spec.
We have a concept, just need the time to finish them... heres a link to the renders

The Impero will switch between Iris, Zoom and FF. So you can do it with just the impero. You just won't be able to control more than one at a time - unless I'm misunderstanding something.
Thats correct, Impero can control zoom, focus and iris but it does so with one knob. The idea behind it is that its mainly to pull focus but you can jump over to zoom or iris to do quick adjustments then go back to focus. You can also run two imperos and link them to the same receiver... that way you can run iris or zoom on one and focus on another. Its really flexible.

payment not working still... :angry2: let me know...
Our card processing gateway has been sporadic all morning. Their servers went down then they said it was fixed, now its hit and miss but it seems to be doing better. Try not to run your card through the store within ten minutes of a failed attempt or the card gateway will lock you out.... its really stupid but apparently they put that in place to prevent duplicate orders. Bare with us on this stuff, we are really busting ass trying to get all the issues squared away as soon as possible. If you didn't receive a confirmation that your order has been placed then go ahead and try again tomorrow (hopefully our gateway will be more reliable at that time) We will send out emails to any orders that didn't process correctly. One other think to check out is that it may be a good idea to call your credit card company/bank and verify is there is any limit on your card or at least let them know that you are going to be placing a large transaction.

Ooh... I'm excited about the addition (down the track) of a rangefinder sort of tool that attaches to the receiver.

The reason I'm most interested in this, and why I think it's such a great addition to the Impero/Inclino setup... is that Red has opened up the market of very high quality image acquisition to some of us indy producers whose dreams are wilder than their abilities...in some areas... in my case... I know all manner of talented people here in the UK who can do almost everything... except I just don't know any experienced 1st ACs who can do a great focus pull with tight DOF without taking 35 takes to do it...

So adding a tool that will allow the impero to display visually what the depth of field currently is, and whether or not the object in the rangefinder's line is in focus... that would allow the focus puller to confidently track an object as it and/or the camera moves all over the place... providing the rangefinder stays looking at the object that you want in focus...

But don't let me derail the thread with this stuff... I'm sure there'll be more on this in the future...after NAB, and after Mirus, Impero, and Inclino start shipping.

Curt, it was cool seeing you again at the LA Users Group meet up. I just ordered the origo and look forward to using it with my actioncam! (which is arriving next week).

Hopefully your wireless FF won't be too far off... (edit: actually, just noticed that the wireless is also shipping in May, I thougt it was only the wired. Cool!!)

See you at NAB.
Dan

Thanks Andrew, that piece of gear is a piece of art, very curious to understand the full functionality, then I can decide if drop the Oconnor 2060 for one of this, and I also have my eye on a ARRIHEAD, so I wryly look forward to get to see the Mirus, thanks again Andrew for the heads up.

Ciao

Hey Ketch anytime my friend, I am always happy to be of assistance. I greatly appreciate your posts on canon glass, THAT was extremely helpful to me... so Thank You.

Ketch, I agree, the Mirus is a piece of art and a match made in heaven for the Red (and) or a nice DSLR. I feel quite fortunate to get #24, I cannot wait to get it and learn it. The Mirus will certainly be an education for me. It also feels good to support the Brothers von Badinski and get amazing gear at great prices. How easy is that? :)

Too bad I cannot make it for NAB, I could have gone for some of that shrimp in white wine sauce... :)

Thanks Andrew, I'm glad you enjoy the Canon posts s well.

I believe that this year thanks to RED, we will see tone of third party companies develop all kinds of related toys, good for us good for them.

Nab is for sure to ring loud bells this year, I was hoping to see you there as well, will meet again, some place else, Ill post a photo of the shrimps for you:)

Ciao

Now thats some sexy gear, especially the head, wow, is the head Mitchell base? Any way look forward to see it in person, NAB or I'll visit you at your shop.

Ciao
Andrew is right, its a Mitchel base. Here is a brief history of the Mirus design, its come a long way....

Thanks for the pics, I wryly dig it a lot, I also see that you will be at NAB, so I'll get to see it first hand?

From the world of photography to that of cinematography there sure is a world of differences, and I believe to be especially so when comes to the heads both the fluid ones and the geared ones, so again looking forward to see the Mirus in person.

Sorry Andrew, I promise to take the snap shot before everyone digs in.:)

Ciao

Curt, the Mirus progression is awesome, I had no idea about the earlier models... so the NAB 2008 model will be even more enticing while delivering a lower price? This is great. I have a lot of questions, but I will wait.

"Ill post a photo of the shrimps for you "

The story of my life... but I will take it! :)

Yes, were going to have several Inclinos, a couple imperos, and 2 mirus units up and running at the show.... we got a great demo this year, if you can make it this year its definitely going to be worth the trip. Sorry you can't make it Andrew... at least you'll get your Mirus before everyone else :)

See y'all there. Like I said... got that jar of pennies with CVB written in marker on masking tape on the lid. :)

Hell yes Curt and that is priceless. There is a method to my thrifty madness!! The great news is that Red, ET and VFS is at the finishing line in just a few short weeks.

I will be flying out to meet you and your brothers when things slowdown a little for you guys... I have been leaving you alone until after the crush but I am dying to do a mini doc (dibs... :) ) on you guys, your company/your unique approach to craft/creativity (for a very cool ongoing project that depends on YOUR TOOLS) and some other cool things I know you will really dig.

Your ingenious products were always a big part of my plans for #557, thank you for making it happen. There was a small period where I thought it was not going to happen, but that is not the case now.

Thanks Andrew... Its nice to have loyal customers even though we havn't shipped anything. We are burning the candle at both ends to get everything out. Ok, I'm going to have to sign off from reduser.... gotta get some work done :)

BTW.... NAB doesn't let us sell stuff at the show for walk away purchases but we'll have a computer setup to take orders for delivery in May. Oh, and We don't take pennies unless they are in rolls.

OK this is way cool!
Curt, does the Imperio standard come with the Imerio Reciever?
Or is this an add on? I don't see it in the store just in the configurations PDF.
I'm very excited to have an affordable wireless focus solution.

Evin, The Impero standard comes with the receiver unit. Now if we can just get this damned store squared away then we'll be on track....
