Is done.. Evin is testing it out and once he gives the blessing, we will start shipping them out.

Thanks for the info Mr Land!
If Evin gives the blessing how much time it will take to ramp up to No 976?
Yea I know it's a really selfish question.

Any idea when Nikon mounts and RED camera shipments will converge?

This is the exact mount (down to the silver button) that Doug is selling.

Jarred. Are you in a cheeky mood today?

Your kidding right?

This took months to engineer and justifies a price increase?

This is the exact same thing Doug Underdahl made in a week.

You guys have done some amazing stuff, but maybe not this...

Dusty

wha-wha-wha..................... <<<====== you one :angry01: fellow.

You don't like the product .............. don't buy it. Better yet, if you think you can do better, make one yourself.

We scrapped our initial design, because Doug's was so much better and simpler. The price increase was cancelled, by the way.

I explained this in the nikon thread... thanks for paying attention :)

I think the price is still 500$ the $800 was momentary and the store still states 500$.

It is an excellent dumb mount and it works. Great! Nikon mount people will be very happy.

Jarred , it's great that RED went with this because it is simple.

Go Baby! Go! At least we can confirm inventory at 7 pieces [minus 1 for Evin]. He he he!

Hmm, so I guess this is why Doug's answer to my last email was a bit cryptic. I assume you are now working together?

Here's a question (for Brent probably): Do you recommend adding the mount to our order if it hasn't shipped yet but should in the next few days?

Thank Jarred for sharing it.

It is definitely a good news that Doug is working with RED on Nikon.

I spent some time at Evin's with the new mount last night - it's delightfully simple and produces stunningly sharp imagery. Being used to cinema lenses, I personally see the Nikon mount as more of an "eye focus" solution than anything else. Either way, it's hard to argue with the breath of inexpensive lenses this mount opens the camera to.

Mount swap took 5 min. Since no marks were taped out on the lenses, we never recollimated. Like I said, eye focus.

I leave the rest to Evin - these are his waters.

What's the inventory level looking like on this? If I buy one now, how long will I have to wait to get one? Thanks guys.

Brook, obviously we wait for Evin, but your [sharp image] comments based on focus charts or generally imagery?
