Any more info or detail here would be great ? The prerecord on the Dragon was always frustrating..

I'm having a tough time deciding between the VV and the s35, I'm coming from a DSMC1 Dragon. The DSMC2 was never enough of an upgrade for me to justify but now with the significant frame rate bump it's something I have to consider.
I mostly shooting skiing and snowboarding with a bit of outdoor doc stuff. The extra punch of the S35 would be nice but it's not really a decision driver for me.
I know in the grand scheme of things $5k isn't really that much but since it might be a stretch to buy either the S35 or the VV but I'm leaning toward the S35 and maybe if I have any money left over buying the MK Fujinon RF 18-55 and 50-135 set. I have a prime C/Y kit but most of my stuff tends to be pretty run and gun so I'm almost always on zooms (other than interviews). For certain jobs I'll rent the Zeiss 21-100 or the Canon 17-120 and every once in a while the 30-300. I like the idea of having the versatility of the MK lenses and actually being able to fit the built camera in my pack (the 21-100 isn't too bad, but the 17-120 is tough and the 30-300 is impossible and pretty much takes a crew) and have always wished they were available to use on a RED.
Is anyone else jumping into the MK's and S35 combo?
Anyway, I'm approaching my busy season and need to pull the trigger on something sooner rather than later (I've got a deal in the works and will know my approximate budget soon). I've always been at least a generation behind and buying a camera right when it comes out without getting my hands on it and doing a ton of research seems strange.
I'm ok on the sensor size, I think the S35 sensor is equivalent to about 5k on my Dragon which is pretty commonly where I was sitting at.
I think my concern is that these cameras are in the wild and I really haven't seen or heard anything about them yet. I'd hate to pull the trigger and spend $20k on a turd that loses half of it's value in the first year or that they aren't selling any and they drop the price to $10k in six months.
Has anyone here actually used the S35 Raptor? It actually seems kinda weird that they've been shipping and there doesn't seem to be much info about them? Are there any real word reviews out yet? Are people ordering them?
Thanks for any info!!
When is the black vers going to be avail? really don't like the grey but need one soon.
Sure thing Trevor. The problem with the last prerecord was that it was writing to the harddisk all the time and this would simply cause it to overheat and it would run slow, which could in some cases lead to error. The way Raptor prerecord works is much better, it saves prerecord to memory. Only when you press record does it save to disk. Only downside is that prerecord is a bit shorter, but should usually be fine. So it is a huge relief. Sometimes I would have prerecord on for 16h in a row and it was not good for the disks.Any more info or detail here would be great ? The prerecord on the Dragon was always frustrating..
Hmm, pretty noisy there in the "First Day with the RED V-Raptor Rhino" but I'm a big fan of Neat Video noise reduction so a little noise never bothered me with test footage, however, I couldn't help but notice the softness throughout with that little bit of bloom, most likely the lens but it reminded me a lot of some of the early prototype Kinefinity and Zcam footage which had a little bloom to it. I'm not too into V-Raptor but if I had to choose, I'd definitely go full frame.

I wonder what frame rate this was shot at as well because if it was at 4K and then compressed for web send along with the things mentioned by Rand would make for not the best image. or even if the settings were say at M quality vs H ?? A lot of variables here..
