As promised here is a shot on the Contax 28 2.8 at 2.8 on my Canon t2i,, then a shot on the new Sigma 18-35mm 1.8 at 28mm 2.8 to see how the two lenses match up. I have a full set of Contax primes, but wanted faster wider lenses to round out the kit, I have to say I am happy with the initial results!

Looks like it, yes. There's a bit more contrast in the bottom one, so I'm guessing it's the Sigma.

Would the sigma 50 f1.4 and 85 f1.4 be a good fit for the 18-35? Or are there other 50 or 85mm you guys would recommend?

Color wise and image wise the 50 and 85 are really nice, but the mechanics on the stills versions are very bad for our use. However the Allstar 50mm t1.5 based on sigma 50mm f1.4 glass is a winner. My favorite PL mounted 50 for under $3000

If only Allstar could add some filter threads on that 50mm... I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Ok, this lens is now topping my rotation. I spent the day going between my Contax 28-85 and this Sigma 18-35. GREAT combination for moving quick!

I got myself an EF mount Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 Art and I've been extremely happy with what I've shot thus far. I hope they'll release Art versions of their 50mm f/1.4 and 85mm f/1.4 as well. And I really hope they'll come at f/1.2.

Curious if anyone else can chime in on this:
Do all sigma's irregardless of the mount focus in the Canon direction?
If that is the case what about buying a Sigma in Nikon mount and just adding a Nikon-Canon adapter so I can manually control the aperture on a RED with Canon mount?

I can confirm from several reports that All Sigma 18-35 f1.8 focus in Cine (aka Canon) direction.

Can't speak for all other Sigma lenses.

Question for other Sigma's like the new 24-105 : Will the IS work on Epic ? Last time I tested the answer was no.
