  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Sweet...

Thanks Gunleik. Nice images as usual.

Bravo Gunleik. Loved the piece.
I can see what you tried to achieve in this test.
We shoot like this sometimes with new cameras to develop my personal "comfort space" with the new tool.
I liked the fact that you put some effort into the content too.
1+ for more tests like these (with relevant follow up discussions).

Indoor, daylight from window.
Softness here is due to lenschoice. I wanted this "look".

Well...I'll pick that one then. :-)
Could you develop a bit more on this particular set up?
Lens aperture exposure...
I guess their was no bounce or aditional light.
It looks really clean, love the texture.
Actually I loved the texture you choose in Sweet for the shots related to that female caracter.
Best

Thanks Brice.

This is really simple, actually.

Light in from the window and a zeiss Jena 80mm at 2.8.
Looks a bit like some images I have seen from that other camera.

Thanks Gunleik. Nice images as usual.

The images I posted today are "as shot" and the ones I plan to use as a base for discussion.

As a sidenote, I have conformed a feature for grade and doing firstlight on it now.
Shot on Epic.

Not shot by me.

But, I miss the Dragon on sooooo many levels already.
One (slightly) surprising, but not totally, is that the Dragon files (at least feels like on my system) seems to decode more easily than the Epic 5k 5:1 files I am working on now.

But THAT is not the main reason I miss the Dragon files when preparing a grade here...

When I get through what I have to get through tonight, I will try to follow up a bit.

THX!

Yea...
Maybe...
But this dragon thingy has def, more detail, a non digital feeling, and a better organic texture than the other camera.
Thanks Gunleik.

OK.

Not much time for writeups these days, so I will have to do it a bit selectively.

Johns idea was brilliant.
As was the question in another thread of Dragons handling of tail lights etc in night shots.

Let us have a look.

I have prepared 6 groups of shots where I show each shot "as shot", "RLF" and "LinearLight"

For the first shot, because it has so much additional info, I have prepared 200% (yup, know that is silly) screenshots from RCX, so you can have a look at the lack of aliasing and other crap, + get a bit into the lowlight rolloff.

Had to start somewhere.
No deep discussion about white-balance today!

Here goes...

Next Group.

look at her skin and the sky... (and the lack of IR-issues)
