Raptor Q&A Below...
Please note that all pictures below that have sliver parts are just parts that have not been anodized black yet... they will all be black at shipment.
I agree with you guys...it would be great to see pics and descriptions of different options that are avail to us. I know that Actioncam is very busy and I appreciate the amazing deal that we have gotten, but I would be willing to drop a lot more scratch on options if I knew more about them.Specifically, I am curious about: What's the difference between the "Rebel 19mm pro Gimbal Mount" and the "fixed 19mm Gimbal Mount"?
raptor_gb_001.jpg
(Picture shows some parts not anodized yet!)

ActionCam Raptor Arm – (Chassi Only) fixed 19mm Gimbal Mount
Standard gimbal mount. 19mm diameter. Connecting tap can NOT rotate.

ActionCam Raptor Arm – (Chassi Only) Rebel 19mm Pro Gimbal Mount
Standard gimbal mount. 19mm diameter rod – can be removed and different lenghts will be available. Connecting tap can rotate. Drag is adjustable from no drag to stiff. Ball-bearing based design.

What's the difference between the "Raptor Stage" and the "Rebel Stage"?
We are working on getting side by side pictures of these as soon as possible.
I would love to see pics of the different stage mounting options

(Picture shows some parts not anodized yet!)

Raptor Stage Mounting Options – Nano Bridge Plate as Raptor Stage Clamp-On Adapter
The picture shows the Nano Bridge Plate mounted to the Raptor Stage as a Clamp-On Adapter.
- The plate works with narrow O’Connor camera-/tripod plates (1030 series), our camera plate (shown on the picture) and our Hybrid Arri Adapter Camera Plate. A compatible plate is required to used with the Nano Bridge. For proper mounting 4 standard 1/4″ camera screws are required.

(Picture shows some parts not anodized yet!)Raptor Stage Mounting Options – Nano Bridge Plate (Raptor Stage Clamp-On Adapter)This is small universal bridge plate (for Arri style Dovetails/Tripod plates). The picture shows it mounted to the long Arri adapter plate on the Raptor Stage. More pictures of the other options coming very soon!!!
What's the difference between the Raptor and the Rebel Cstand Mounting Brackets?
raptor_gb_002.jpg

ActionCam Raptor Standard Mounting Bracket
Simple AC style mounting bracket with a drop-down safety position (secure belt not shown on picture), standard mounting hole for C-Stands and the balancing tap. The resting position of the sled is very close to the C-Stand to give a better security also on lighter C-Stands.

ActionCam Rebel Standard Mounting Bracket
Advanced AC style mounting bracket with a drop-down safety position (and extra safety lock with the balancing tap). The balancing tap can be be positions either closer or further away for optimal balancing of the sled.

Update will update the contents of the cart.My question is this - if I change the cart to reflect my original order, how does this affect the discount?

You are free to make ANY changes at all, because the discount code reflects cash value based on the base package below

Check Out Instructions:

  • Log in to your Account at innocinema.com
  • Go directly to the Shopping Cart to view your requested pre-configured package.
  • Take your time and make any addition / changes you want to your pre-configured package.
  • Once you update your shopping cart with your final set-up... Apply Discount Code that is given to you on the email.
  • Proceed to check out and choose ONLY "Ground", "First Overnight", or "Free" if you want to use your FedEx account number.
    • It has to be chosen this way because it is being shipped internationally from Switzerland.
  • Pick your payment method and complete check out.
I presume the discount code is unique to each buyer. But I also presume this is based upon the original list of purchased items (that then generated a 20% deposit 'total').
It is only unique because it includes the your pre payed deposit in addition to the Group Buy discount. This balance is spelled out specifically on each email with the exact number and how it was configured. It being unique makes no difference in how the package is configured as it represents cash value that is the same no matter what the configuration is. Even if you started over it wouldn't matter as the discount code value is only based on that base package price that was offered for the group buy. Make any package you want, you will be discounted the same :)

Extra Modular Power Distribution Options -So the Power Box - is this the junction box, or will that be something different? Will this or whatever the junction box ends up being attach to the sled?

Yes, the selection of this will include an extension 8pin to 8pin cable to continue power through the system to the camera.

Raptor Sled Power Supply Options - How do I get a dual battery plate? I read the bit about a smart plate that detects which is being used for camera power, but I'm not sure that I see the need for this if your current swap pack is 12V regulated, I should be fine, yes? I really don't need more power than one battery, but I just feel like more weight lower on the lower stage is always a win... the more I think about it, the more okay I am with just attaching a redrock weight underneath the battery.... anyway, maybe other people have this question too.

This needs to be selected in the following categories....

  • Extra Modular Power Distribution Options
    • 1 x ActionCam Raptor Elite Accessory Battery Module - (Connection Cable included) V-Mount
    • 1 x ActionCam Raptor Elite Accessory Battery Module - (Connection Cable included) Gold-Mount
  • Extra Module / Accessory Mounting Options
    • 1 x ActionProducts 15mm Lightweight SwivelMount
    • 1 x ActionProducts 15mm Studio SwivelMount

This is done this way if you want a hotswap accessory powering feature for your rig that doesn't always have to be so heavy if you don't need it sometimes. If you need to use 2 batteries for any reason this is a good option that can distribution power and weight on one or two monitor mounts as needed. The best part about this set up is when you don't need this feature, just use the main battery module and leave the weight off the rig of the accessory battery module.

If you just need added weight.... you have two much more simple and cheap options....

  • Middle Monitor Mount Sled Rod Options - (2 x Rods per Monitor Mount) - (Select Steel Rods for added weight)
    • 2 x ActionProducts 12“ 15mm Steel Rod (1 lbs. each - Stainless Steel BLACK)
  • Bottom Monitor Mount Sled Rod Options - (2 x Rods per Monitor Mount) - (Select Steel Rods for added weight)
    • 2 x ActionProducts 12“ 15mm Steel Rod (1 lbs. each - Stainless Steel BLACK)
  • Extra Raptor Weight Option
    • 1 x ActionCam Raptor Steel Weight Plate Set - (.5 lbs - 2.2 lbs. - Stainless Steel BLACK)
I don't see the "new" junction box or hard card case in the innocinema online store (I realize these items aren't available yet). If I don't see them in your online store, how do I order them?

The reason we did this with a build to order approach is to try to keep ALL options of configurations for the rig in one place to choose and change on the fly. I have pre-configured a rig for everyone based on what you asked for a few months ago, but since then we have MUCH more to offer including the Raptor Powerbox and hard cases!! Take a look at what the Raptor build to order listings and make sure you have everything you need.
  • Extra Modular Power Distribution Options
    • 1 x ActionCam Raptor PowerBox 12V + 8pin to 8pin (18") PowerBox Extension Cable
    • 1 x ActionCam Raptor PowerBox 12V/5V + 8pin to 8pin (18") PowerBox Extension Cable
    • 1 x ActionCam Raptor PowerBox 12V/24V + 8pin to 8pin (18") PowerBox Extension Cable
Or if you want to use existing or a new ActionProducts EPIC/SCARLET Electra with the Raptor you now can!!!
electra_abplate_1_2.jpg

  • Extra Module / Accessory Mounting Options
    • 1 x ActionProducts EPIC/SCARLET PowerPackage Module Adapter - (15mm RodMount required)
    • 1 x ActionProducts 15mm Lightweight SwivelMount
    • 1 x ActionProducts 15mm Studio SwivelMount

We can now ship your rig in the case too!!! So make sure to add them in your configuration if you want one!!!

ActionCam Waterproof Hard Case - (Foam Cut for Sled + Vest + Arm or Empty Option)
  • ActionCam Raptor Hard Case - (Arm, Sled, and Vest)
  • ActionCam Raptor Hard Case - (Empty - No Foam)

raptor_gb_003.jpg

(ALL silver parts have not been anodized yet. They will be anodized at shipment.)

Toll-Free Handle
Pictures shows for demonstation a standard (RedOne) handle. A similar handle with be shipped to all customers as soon as they have been produced (will take a few weeks). If you have a RED handle (long) available it can be used in the mean time.

I am able to walk everyone through the check out on the phone if you wish, call me anytime 704-665-1945 :)

Hi Justin,

Thanks

We do not have actual pictures of the case just yet as we are just now getting them in. I will be posting them as soon as I get them. Please note that the case will be black and not orange as it shows in the render below (only posted to show dimensions).

Thanks Justin. Interior pics of the case would be great. Also of the other new accessories. It's all a bit overwhelming with all your options.... And I have a very strong Steadicam background.....

Not a bad thing. Just confusing.

Do you have an F bracket available for low mode?

thanks

H Ruff et al.,

After reading your credentialed comment, and, with literary license, speaking for everyone, a fair bet is that we all feel a lot better...

Hi Justin,

Ssince the hard case, can accommodate additional items, would the offered foam cutout placements limit additional placement of tems. or is there a laser cut option, if going, for example, to heavier duty stages (Rebel), additional power box, etc.? Also, the dim weight of the hard case would make carry on air travel usage a no-go,. Is there a Petrol bag that would be suitable for this, that you offer.

Thank you very much

Fury

Thank you very much

I pulled the trigger and completed my order over the weekend - I am still curious about adding a second battery as was brought up earlier and Justin suggested this:

1 x ActionCam Raptor Elite Accessory Battery Module - (Connection Cable included) V-Mount $797.05APS11761
What power outs does this plate have?

Also, I opted for the
1 x ActionCam Raptor PowerBox 12V/24V + 8pin to 8pin (18") PowerBox Extension Cable
Does this mean that I can run 24V power from the power box without buying the SwapPack 12V/24V?

And what would you run out 5V from if one opts for the PowerBox 12V/5V ?

Thanks Justin. Interior pics of the case would be great.

The Raptor Hardcase is a black, waterproof hard-case from “Explorer”. It has a extractable handle and wheels for easier transportation.

The pictures show the fully empty box (if you want to put your own foam inside) and the version with laser cut foam (the picture only shows the foam in the top cover. The laser cut foam is in the bottom of the case for the arm and accessories. On top of this is the vest and the sled). Please note that the foam is in production at the moment and that I can’t provide any photos at this time.

For details on dimensions and weight, please visit the following link: Explorer Case 5833

It is true, we are now an official dealer of Petrol Bags as well. These are very new products for us and we are still adding them to the online shop. We will update this post when we decide on a Petrol Bag(s) that will be a good fit for the rig.

This plate acts as a smart Accessory/Power system plate, able to tell if the "ActionCam Raptor Elite Accessory Battery Module" is supplying power or not.
  • If it is, the Accessory plate will only power the Accessories attached to it, while letting separate power from the "ActionCam Raptor Elite Accessory Battery Module" pass through to power only the Camera.
  • If it is NOT, The Accessory plate will power both Accessories and Camera.
IN/OUT Connection Overview:
  • 1x IN 8pin Lemo
    • To feed power and signal of power status (from the other Raptor Battery Module), into the "ActionCam Raptor Elite Accessory Battery Module"
  • 1x OUT 8pin Lemo
    • To continue power throughout the rest of the system.
  • 1x OUT P-Tap 12V
  • 1x OUT 2pin Lemo 12V
Also, I opted for the
1 x ActionCam Raptor PowerBox 12V/24V + 8pin to 8pin (18") PowerBox Extension Cable
Does this mean that I can run 24V power from the power box without buying the SwapPack 12V/24V?

And what would you run out 5V from if one opts for the PowerBox 12V/5V ?

Extra Modular Power Distribution Options

The Power Distribution Options (Raptor PowerBoxes) are in construction at the moment. Therefore we are not able to give you any renders or photos. However the box will be around 5x5x2 cm (2″x2″x0.7″) large and available in the following configurations:

- 1x System IN (8pin LEMO), 1x System OUT (8pin LEMO), 3x 2pin LEMO 12V* Acc. OUT
- 1x System IN (8pin LEMO), 1x System OUT (8pin LEMO), 2x 2pin LEMO 12V* Acc. OUT, 1x 5V** Fischer OUT
- 1x System IN (8pin LEMO), 1x System OUT (8pin LEMO), 2x 2pin LEMO 12V* Acc. OUT, 1x 12/24V*** Fischer OUT

* UNREGULATED 12V Battery Power (depending on battery – 14 to 17.5V)
** Regulated 5 V (ca. 2.5 Amp.) Power
*** UNREGULATED 12V Battery Power (depending on battery – 14 to 17.5V) if there is NO 24V source attached. With a “Electra” 24V Regulated Power. With a “12/24V” SwapPack UNREGULATED 24V

Package includes a 18″ long System extension cable (8pin to 8pin) for the camera adapter cables.

What does the powerbox look like? Do I need one? Especially for this small light rig.

We do not have pictures of the power box right now as it is not finished yet. Most light setups do not need one, ONLY BECAUSE most light setups don't usually have have a lot of accessories. In any case that you would like to be able to power accessories (with the outputs listed above) away from the Raptor Battery Module (like where the camera is on the stage) on 15mm Lightweight or Studio Spacing Rod setups, then you should probably get the Raptor Powerbox.

Struggling to understand all the options when I cannot see them, (Clicking on a photo in the description would be ace).

We completely understand and sympathize with your frustration on this. Under normal circumstances, we would have all pictures listed online with even more descriptions. The problem here is you all are truly getting the very first batch of this rig. This is why the pictures you are getting here still have some silver parts on them from not being anodized the final color yet. Because of this the Raptor has not formally been released to the public, out of side of REDUSER, yet. Please understand we are trying to make this process as simple as we can considering how many options you have to choose from. We will be posting new pictures we have as soon as we get them.

Hybrid Arri Adapter Camera Plate

This Hybrid Plate (Arri dovetail standard) can be used as a Arri Adapter Plate and as a Camera plate for the Rebel and the Raptor Stage (with Nano Bridge Plate as Clamp Adpater).

Lenght: 27cm (10.6″)

The Plate is now in anodization and therefore we can only present a render for now. As soon as the anodized plate arrives we will update with a photo.

Have folks received the promo code via email?

Mine arrived last Friday. It's a promo code that takes account of your original deposit - plus there should be a preconfigured basket in your Innocinema account. Mine was slightly different to my order, but you can append it.

I don't know what order they've been sending out in (ie those who paid the deposit quickly first time around - or just alphabetically etc) - that's for Daryl or Justin to answer :)

If you haven't had a mail, maybe check your spam/filtering and if not, drop them an email?

RED and Switronix plates are wired correctly to display smart battery data.
Will the Raptor work by default to display RED battery information?

Yes. All Battery plates are wired to display this information.

GMP batteries carry improper voltages on the data pins which prevents the camera from operating.
Will the Raptor work by default with this improper battery information?

We do not know the answer to this question. The only way we could tell you for sure is if you sent your battery in for testing in Switzerland. We would strongly recommend calling GMP to ask them why this is the case. If you want us to wire your plate where it sends no information at all to the camera to avoid this problem, please tell us.

When is the best time to finalize payment?

Now! As soon as possible really. We are days away from completing manufacturing for the rigs. Your ship date is counted 2 weeks or less from your payment and also done in order of who payed first. We are almost ready to ship now, so please make your final payment now to avoid further delay.

If you have questions, the quickest way to get support is to call us directly when you are ready to checkout. We will talk you through ALL questions and help you configure your setup online personally at checkout. Please call us!!

Hey Justin, quick question. is the setup with the AC7 display and AC7 power cable from your shop supported with the simplest battery plate you are offering?

The display cable says its a 2 pin connection.

cheers

Good Question. No, the basic plate does not have a 2pin Lemo Connection. We will have to have the cable customized for P-Tap. I will have to double check but this should not be a problem at all.

Thank you! yeah if a p-tap option is available that would e great in that case!

What would be the easiest way to get the 2pin onboard? the pro plate?

Yes, choosing the Raptor Pro Battery Module would the best way to have that option on board for lower cost. That is the battery module that comes default with the group buy price anyway. Selecting the Raptor Basic module is a downgrade from that. If you chose the pro module, then just choose the 2pin lemo monitor cord and it will work just fine.

I'm sure you'll get sorted out Roy - Daryl & Justin have been great so far.

I did ask if the code was 're-applyable' - it seems not (eg - you update your order/basket and then apply the code again) - I'd presume the code is a one time entry affair.

It therefore makes sense to decide and be sure on all options before placing a final order.

Personally, I'm still debating a few items - so (for me) it's sensible to let the info/updates filter through before final choices are made (I'm not in an uber rush, as I'm locked on post/CG for another month or so)... missing all the nice Summer weather :(

Thanks Andy for your kind words!!

I have changed all discount codes to allow each customer to re-apply multiple times for "viewing" purposes only. I hope this helps to make this process easier for everyone. If you actually check out with the code more than one time, your order will not process until you pay the discounted difference.

As far as taking your time to pay, its important everyone knows we are at a critical time for this group buy. There are a lot of people that have paid their remaining balance (Thank you!), but there are also a number of people that have not. We are extremely close to shipping these rigs and if people continue to delay payment, they will not only delay shipping for themselves, but everyone else as well. It is very important that whoever has not paid the remaining balance yet, does so now.

Daryl and I are here to help if you have any questions. In many cases the quickest way to answer your questions, is to call one of us directly during checkout and we can talk you through all questions you have.
