Looks like it was shot with Cooke's.
Quite a few scenes have some focus issues though.
Heck of a lot of noise in the more somber scenes as well.
The other thing I find is that the skin tones are a bit strange at times.
It's as if they were pulled out of a shot that didn't have enough color information/seperation.
I am not talking about grading. (I often grade professionally) I am talking about a peculiar kind of flatness for faces.
Unfortunately, while in the movie theater and noticing this, I asked myself, has this been shot on a Red?
Not a good sign.
Other than that, the film is pretty good. A courageous woman and topic.

Ummm not to burst your 2008 bubble, but the red camera's image quality is not really up for debate anymore. Its proved itself. Not sure what sign your looking for..... Was the hobbit not a good enough sign? or spiderman? or any of the other high profile films that have come out over the last five years that have shot on it? your a bit late to the "red is a scam" party.

I think the complete opposite, I find the skintones superb all the way through and the texture of them is quite remarkable. It's so good so the makeup artist probably had to run up infront of camera more than a few times since the camera kind of see it all. Regarding the grain and such I think they shot for it, I find also the grain to be very spot on to, For me it's perfect for the time of the film. I think it would look odd to see a second world war film with no grain...

One of the nicest shot trailers I have seen on red. Hitchcock was not to crappy either. :)

These guys knows their stuff for sure. Big congrats to everyone involved.

It looks and sounds just right for the period depicted. There was nothing in the trailer that distracted me. The scene extract was another matter. I am confused by why they chose the initial awkward framing when she is reclining and receives a phone call, then the leading pan to the phone when several shots cut together may have worked better and may have been more apparently authentic as I imagine it, to the shooting style of the times.

I see, so now you are dictating to me what we are allowed to speak about or not?
I am simply stating my opinion and I am perfectly willing to allow you to have yours.
My opinion remains that there is a certain kind of flatness in the way the skin tones were rendered, for me to assume it was a RED before anyone told me. And it turns out I was right.
Where have I said RED is a scam? Nor have I said that the camera is not good enough for many films.
Every camera has it's strengths and weaknesses and it's individual qualities.
There is absolutely no need to exhibit this kind of defensiveness.
Sorry if it ruffled your feathers but the only person referring back to 2008 and having something to prove, is you.
Those are old battles that don't belong to me.

I was 2nd unit DP for the New York shoot. Used my Epic with Master Primes. I think main unit used Master Primes.

Funny, I could have sworn that Cookes were used because if memory serves me there were quite a few shots with out of focus lights that had less than 9 blades (Master Primes) and what looked like a typical Cooke roll-off. I think something like 6 blades. Cooke zoom then?

Wow...Amazing.... Skintone. color.. Detail...etc

Relax. I am just saying that blaming the camera for what may have been a visual choice for the makers and saying " not a good sign" as if the Red is in preproduction and might have large flaws to its image quality is a bit silly at this point. Red has proven it is a highly capable camera that can produce world class images. What I am saying is that you suggesting that perhaps there wasn't enough colour information, and this is the cameras fault is just silly. I would say its graded that way, by choice.

I too look forward to it. I respect people who think for themselves, even if it means being unpopular. ::cough:: Clayton ::cough:: As far as technical matters are concerned, I didn't see anything sub-standard and liked the quality of the image. However I am not able to see the clip at full size.
