CC subscription plan plan from Adobe is very wrong decision .They're going to force us to rent the sw instead of owning it.They should do two way.some one wanna rent it out go head, some one wanna buy the software go head.better go with Avid or Fcpx.

Hey Adobe! We don't Like it and we don't want it! You say you listen to your clients... Are you listening now???? At least give us the option!!!
+1
Me don't like it at all.
Adobe WTF?
I have the feeling I'm gona swop editing suite again, maybe it is time to have a look at FCPX.
Good luck to Adobe.

I am sooooo frustrated over my cloud subscription!! :( I have to verify my account every day and some days I´m prompted to enter a serial number (something I do not have as this is a subscription)
I´m using way too much time verifying, uninstalling and re-installing this lousy cloud :(

At the moment I´m very sad that I sold my hard copy of CS, and hope Adobe either get their sh*t together or offer the opportunity to buy their software...

The corporate arrogance that near-monopoly brings. Those who do not listen to
the lessons of history will repeat them. - My guess is Adobe as a NLE has about
8 to 10 years before it becomes a feather duster after provoking something like
RED out of the NLE wilderness. Who knows? Mr. Jannard himself might even venture a
little further and get into the alternative NLE business. Linux-based would be a real bonus.

As no new updates are said to come for previous versions of CS, I suppose this means you have to move to the Cloud if you want to edit Dragon footage?

Hopefully other alternatives to Adobe will pop up when dragon time come.
while Adobe probably thought they won the nle war, I predict them some bad results in the near futur.

I´m glad I´ve been keeping FCPX and been using it now and again. I think I´ll have to really learn it properly now

AAaarg, time for me to go back to home studies. :-)

Changed to Adobe Premier 6 months ago, Im not interested in paying subscriptions. I'm OUT.

I will have a serious look at other options. This monopolistic model makes me sick.

I hoped on board the cloud since it was announced...I wanted to give cs6 a go with the red workflow and at 30 bucks a month it was a no brainer. My experience so far...

Pros:

-Full access to creative suite
-updates are free
-multiple systems (2 I believe) run at the same time
-cloud services (never actually used them)

cons

-Must pay to play
-billing eror will shut down your operation
-Customer service un able to activate or help in emergency

To elaborate, instead of being able to pay for full year...they charge monthly 30 bucks. My worst fear about the cloud was realized when
I go to log in to Premier says there is a billing issue and wont launch the software just when i am approaching a deadline. I called customer service and they could not accept my EU debit card
cause this account was setup with a US address...long story short there was no way they could take a payment and nothing they could do despite my desparte
situation. I was locked out of my edit suite...this is scary part of clouds.

I am still on the fence about cloud services in generally cause i see them as a sort of trap but its clearly the way of the future so hopefully there will be some better offline protection.

Exactly what I've been doing. Hope they get Dragon support quick and well. In another unrelated post, Jarred said he knew some of the folks working in FCPX. This could at least serve as assurance that a communication on the software level exists. Of course adobe is much closer to Red- they had an engineer at Hong Kong reducation, for example- but If things are good with FCP I will focus on there. Adobe hadn't win me over with CS6, and now am really not at all inclined to go CS 7...

For independent filmmakers, for freelancers and for those who use the software often for both work and at the same time keep learning compositing or if you need to do some fast changes to an edit this is a fucking disgrace. Cloud services are good but I want to OWN the software I bought. I want to have the choice. There are in no way enough updates to justify the yearly price for a subscription.

This is only about Adobe getting more money from their products. There haven't been any updates worth during an entire year of CS6 and the yearly cost for using their software is in sweden 1040 USD, that's almost double from the upgrade price I payed from CS5 to CS6.

I was beginning to be a fan of Adobe, but to not even give the choice of buying a full license is probably ending it for me, I don't use everything from Adobe and I sure as hell won't use their cloud storage when I got my own FTP account... I don't need it, I only need what I choose to pay for. Is there any companies left that have a good strategy? Apple killing it's FCP, Adobe killing it's license, Avid killing fluid workflow... what's wrong with these companies?

I bought a computer just to test these "cloud" licensing models, it's more then adobe that is having complex messaging happen every time you turn the program on. My problem is these complex licensing models/messages don't work well when I go through 3 or 4 layers of firewalls, and all fail on proxy gateways. I really do like creative cloud for personal use.

After a lot of research, I can really get on board with this. Especially being a RedUser, constant updates on the post side of things will be welcome.

My only concern that I haven't seen responded to yet was with Plug Ins. Will AE and Premiere Cs6 Plugins work, will they have compatibility issues when upgrading the software? Etc...

Jeeze! What is this? Soylent phukin Green? Trying to talk us all into going with the flow? I tell you what... I won't try to talk you into giving up the cloud model if you let me state my case for retaining outright purchase. Deal?

Note A: I haven't used a disk for my Adobe products since CS3. All downloaded just like the cloud stuff. Except I own it and don't have to fuck with point B.

If rental suits you, fine. Stay happy. It doesn't suit me.

No need to be rude. I was merely trying to elucidate some aspects of this subscription based model that people seem to be confused about.

You are perfectly entitled to your opinions and preferences, and nobody's trying to take that away from you.

Peace.
