I had a great day lots of Slow mo but after a couple of days shooting I notice that there are a couple of clips that say off line... And wont load in the viewer and just show black in the bin... all the others look fine. Maybe only 1 per mag over the day. And the funny part is its on the same mag but don't really know if that could be related or not yet..Will test.

I have to say I did a lot of quick record on off button pushes and wonder if that may cause this.
Anyone else shed some light on this..

If you still have the source clips on the mag I would try playing them back from the mag, then copy them again if they look ok. If the mag has already been formatted I would perform a Secure Format in camera and do some testing to see if the issue comes back.

I did the 4.0.10 update yesterday and I have the same issue.
On SSD or copied into the system, I have a couple of "Offline" clip here an there, no infos about it and no way to play them...

You should fill at ticket with RED. I never had one myself but some user of my R3D cataloging app had issues with those 'ghost' clips from FW 4.x and I fixed my app so it could identify those instead of crashing.

Thiught it was related to pre-record but looks like it is not...

Thanks for the info Mikael, I'll do that asap.

My clips are larger.. one is 2.8 gig and the other is about 300mb so my issue is not the small one.. And thanks for the heads up on the preroll thing. All my clips with this issue had a 4 sec preroll....my build is the beta 4.0.8

I'm having the same issue right now. Anyone find a solution to this? I was shooting 5K 2:1 at 60fps. I was doing a lot of very short clips, and about half of my clips say "Offline" in Redcine-X. They do not play back in camera.

Julio-

I was the first one who reported this issue to RED last year. I'm surprised to see this is still an issue as they fixed it in consequent releases (both on camera and RCX). Are you running the latest camera firmware and RCX?
How long are the takes? For my case, most of the R3D affected were long takes (requiring more than 2 files). The only thing I can tell you is that I am now able to see ALL my footage (which for a while I thought were lost).

The only difference between our case is that mine showed OFFLINE in RCX but I could play them back in camera.

Do open a ticket with RED and good luck!
