Les, are you saying that if Dragon is announced it will be available in the Scarlet for the same price?
Absolutely not! But, my 'guess' would be that the cost of a new Scarlet/Dragon would be less than the total cost of an upgraded one.
But, who knows? The original RED owners got quite a deal to upgrade to Epics. And that was a very good business practice.Maybe RED will do it for no penalty for the first group of beta Scarlet users? But ... do expect the Scarlet/Dragon to be higher priced than the current Scarlet.
I don't know if that is what Les was saying, but the answer to the larger question appears to be No. Red has made it fairly clear that a Scarlet to Dragon upgrade will come with specs and a price tag that will bring it to parity with Epic. Expect your all in cost to =$34,500 + whatever Dragon for Epic costs...
So $24,800+Epic Dragon upgrade cost? Maybe close to $30K?
I ?think? I remember that an upgraded Scarlet, even though they are replacing a lot of chips, will not be as fast or capable as an Epic.
