I'm glad a third party is stepping up to the plate yet again, but this item really should:

1. Come standard with a professional camera package.

2. Cost under $50 to replace in the Red store.

Nice, great start.


Here are my thoughts for improvements. Do not take it as I hack down on your creation, so far you have the lead but I think if you make it so it snap to the V lock instead of using screws you could sell them a bit easier. Since when we all get our Redmotes the need to take off / put on will be primary focus...
So if you can make it from some flexing plasitic and so it snaps when pushed over the V lock would be great.
Then the estetics, I would pay 30bucks instead of 25 if you made it so it lines up with the outer edge of the back of the camera, just let it match the shape of that whole surface instead of just the middle square.
Also type something on it... like "plastic cap for connectors protection module" or "no function what so ever module" or "bitter side of camera lid" or "actors on other side of camera" or "back end" or "complete camera infront" or... something stupid

I appreciate the suggestions. I designed mine to be as inexpensive as possible while still getting the job done. With the added complexity you've suggested, I'd have to charge almost twice as much.
