How are you guys going to get your money to Red? Wire it? Credit card? What is going to be the fastest?

I was hoping I could flip Jim for it. I win, I get the camera. He wins, he gets the quarter.

I don't think Red takes cash, which presumably would be fastest. We do know they take credit cards though.

I'm paying via selling my Jeep, Selling my 7D kit (minus my 50 1.4 just incase there is a canon mount usable with the scarlet), Some of my military bonus, and a small loan from the bank.

I'll be wiring it into my RED account prior to the 3rd from my Checking. My CC limits aren't high enough to pay that way.

i sold my Honda CBR 1000rr [repsol edition] 2005 model ... For Scarlet ... recently got Credit card with 6.4k limit ... Max i can afford for scarlet fixed

I was hoping to win the million dollars from McDonald's Monopoly, but that didn't work out. I guess I'll have to sell some things and give amex a call here pretty soon.
I was doing the same...got close on a couple...Even had one of the blue ones.

Park place is easy... it's that damned dastardly Boardwalk that's the tough one!... but if you found it it's not really that big a deal so you might as well just send it to me and I'll take real good care of it for you.

sure....what's your address ? ;)

Let's say you are one of the firsts to make the 10% deposit for a Scarlet kit, say at 7PM, and then you need to send a bank wire for 11K because your CC limit doesn't allow you to purchase it directly with the CC, then do you lose your place in line while your balance is fully paid off?

I was hoping we could put 7K in a red account or something like that. I guess Visa will have to do.

hmmm where is this red account?
Would it be realistic to pay the price with a debit card or wiring would be a better option? thanks!

I'll be purchasing with Visa. Hopefully they allow us to make a 10% downpayment with Visa and then pay for the rest via a wire transfer.

I think It will be better If RED Can split Payments In half ... 50% one month & 50% second month ... SO we can use CC easily

Ok I'm going to try my best to answer as many of your questions as possible the best I can...

I'm not sure if you will lose your place in line, but if I were you, I'd set up a RED account here: https://www.red.com/customer/new

Then contact RED and or buy something like an SSD or Red Station to get yourself a Bomb Squad Rep (the person that will help you out with all of your purchases) and ask them to assist you setting up a wire transfer to your RED account.

Read above to put money into your RED account. They're very helpful.

Go here: https://www.red.com/customer/new

I would say it's fair to say you could probably do the deposit on your Debit, I would put money in your RED account to cover the rest.

To this point and my understanding this is what they've done for larger purchases. You can go to the store and add something to a cart and see this as an option. I think it's the preferred method. Although I just used a card to buy my RED Station 1.8

I think It will be better If RED Can split Payments In half ... 50% one month & 50% second month ... SO we can use CC easily

To my best knowledge like everything else, it could be totally different for the Scarlet since it isn't in the store yet and this is unlike anything RED has ever released, you will pay 10% up front, card or wire. Then you will be placed into a system where a Bomb Squad rep will contact you. Upon contact they will verify your info is right, charge the percentage, and then you will have a specific number of days to follow up your payment otherwise your product (pulled from being active in the sales market essentially being held for you) and if you don't meet the balance within that time period it's placed back in the open sales floor more or less.

This is why I'm personally wiring it in before hand to make sure I have my funds ready prior and to make it a quick and easy process for the RED team. They're going to have a lot of work coming there way. I just want to make my purchase and work with them as smooth as possible as they will likely be dealing with alot of emails/orders and transactions.

There customer service is top notch.

Again any info could be totally different come the 3rd. I'm just sharing my best understanding of the process with all of you to help as much as possible in making your questions answered and purchasing easier so you can get out there and shoot ;)

Been reading the forum for some time and now that the Scarlet is being released, it finally gave me the kick to join the forum and actually speak up.

Anyhow, thanks for the links and all the helpful info. Can't wait to jump in line on Nov 3 (wrong side of the country to actually be there tho). Hope my Visa limit will be big enough for the purchase.

Welcome to the site Jeff. You can always contact your credit card company and request a credit increase. I will be calling mine on the 3rd and making sure that they know that I'll be putting a few thousand on the card. Last thing I want is for the card to be rejected because the fraud department thinks the charge is outside of my regular spending habits.
