  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Laforet + EPIC + Canon Mount + 600mm

I hope to do wildlife documentaries. I'm dreaming to shoot that kind of pictures. You must be the happiest operator on earth.
 
Someone needs to break RED (and RED shooters) of their addiction to low res compressed samples.

Otherwise, congratulations all around.
 
This is great.

Hopefully I'm going to buy my Canon 5D mkiii soon and a couple of lenses.

Then next year I hope to buy a Scarlet and as soon as I have enough money, sell the body, keep the modules and upgrade to EPIC-S.

I think that EPIC-S + Still Lenses will one of the biggest revolutions for low-budget/no-budget films in history.

They will be shot in Florence, and near by (EDIT to) "Beaches" in Tuscany, we'll use mainly the Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 II and the EF 70-200mm f/2.8 IS II,
but also really love the EF 400mm f/2.8 IS II.
 
Did I miss something? Is this a new power pack for Anton Bauer batteries? Or just a backpack system adapter?

I couldn't agree more. I don't care how well the eye is trained there just isn't enough info compared to what we can see. 4k youtube still in the air?

Yeah, not to derail, but... I'd like to see the thread titled "Kilgroe + EPIC + Nikon Mount..." ;)

Anyway, looks like Vincent managed some beautiful shots with that setup.
 
I'll give it a try next time for sure. The question I keep asking myself is: who has a monitor / computer that can DISPLAY 4K??? And is it worth the headache at this time?
 
Can someone point me to a thread with the details on this mount? First time I have seen this mount and it looks incredible. I think this is a very viable option for me.

It's a new piece yet to be released from a 3rd party. When they're ready they'll let you know...

I was posing yes for that one shot - caught me. But I did use both - but never at the same time. Almost 100% use of the Bomb btw Jason - so I think you missed that one. There is touch to focus on the LCD... so I had both of them mounted. Until the modules come out - you can only use one at a time. But you can hot swap them and that works some of the time w/o reboot - and RED is working on making that more solid.
