  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Compatible is a bit of a stretch. It does work but, as the dovetail is wider on the ET bracket than the "swat rail", the spinner is only holding on by a couple of threads.

I'm going to make my own 19mm replacement that uses a RED swat rail.

This configuration is pretty close to something I'm looking for -- but it's unclear to me if the swat rail can be mounted further forward on the FMJ top plate in order to get the EVF forward for balanced shooting on the shoulder.

What's the word?

Thanks for the Bomb ,got mine delivered today after a wait of 6 months.Had lost a lot of work but its a piece of work and is worth the wait.

Got my Bomb evf last week been using it ,just noticed that its getting pretty hot after a use of an hour.Not that I've received any complaints from the DOP but my DIT pointed it out ,Please advise if there are some settings/precautions I need to do??

I am Officially one of the Bomb-Worthy! (and Red-Station Worthy too...)
Received today after Nov. order. My Gawd its glorious: the _heft_ of this little jewel!! And, if I may, a real "WOW" to the packaging design...! I mean, I would have been in a Buzz if it had arrived in a paper bag, but man, the box, the graphic design, the uber-cool mini pelican case?! You guys go 1st class ALL the way. kudos.

It all sits proudly in my (Betacam SP!) edit suite - awaiting a Scarlet to attach it too..... very excited!

Not sure just a Bomb qualifies me as part of the Red Family, so I'll go with "3rd cousin on yer Auntie's side", for now.

I have the 100mm swat rail mounted overhanging the front edge of the body from an FMJ top plate, so the spinner is in a friendlier position. Frustratingly however an entirely cosmetic little bit of the spinner mounting clashes with the EVF/LCD port hump on the side SSD housing, so it has to sit either forward or aft of the bulge.

I'm going to wait and see what Red are changing on the camera body, as I suspect it might be related to EVF mounting... If not I'll just machine off the little offending lip on the base of the spinner.

I have searched but cannot locate the answer to the following -how does one make the Bomb either more saturated, or strip it all out for black & white? I haven't seen anywhere in the menus...on Epic bootup there's a nicely colored chart that appears and is a very crisp image but it appears somewhat desaturated. Any hints?
