I am one of the first persons I think that knew about red and has been following it since very first days of the idea appearing on different forums. I might even be the first one in the world to believe (instinctively) that camera was coming. Then when on NAB they started taking reservations, my flight was delayed and I was late to arrive there by 2 days, and I found myself to be 178th on reservations list, I just was 2 days late. And then later I got 3 more reservations.

And I believe that believing and trusting them paid off when I got the camera and was exclusive owner for at least 6 month in the region. It paid off when Red announced that Epics where coming, and I knew that I was again to keep my reservation number and the priority of having one of the first cameras in the world.

And now I feel a bit angry, because with having so many Epic-Ms out there, you forgot that we, those who believed in you many years ago, and lend you money, that helped you on your R&D, those who have been loyal and have been the first people in the world to advocate your camera, those who have had to talk people for you and explain them why the camera is so special, when nobody believed in it, I believe those of us are the most important customers of yours, and I think coming up with a stage of EPIC-M just for the reason to MAKE MORE MONEY, is making my reservation absolute, it looses any sense, the reason I want to be ahead, is to be the first, to have the exclusivity, which I don't have, anyone who has double the money I am willing to pay for it, can have the camera ahead of me, so I am no more a loyal customer of red, and yes, I can not change anything here, I will keep waiting and when the cameras will be out I will get my camera, red will still keep and use my reservation money for as long as they want and that's the way it it and I have to cope with it.

But I am just saying that this is not cool, I just want to remind you that there are at least 700 people who made reservations on a very very early stage, $1000 each, total of $7,000,000, you used this money to develop the camera, and I feel like the production is delayed on purpose not in favor of these 700.

They can't make the cameras without all the parts. They're missing 18 of the 18,000. It has been stated many times on this forum.

If you think that these delays are not based on the Japan disaster and limited stock of parts, why do you think that they are sending out incomplete EPIC-M kits?

I'm sorry but it is clear to me that Red want their cameras shipping out just as much if not more than we do, and I can see many holes in your theory.

We ALL want cameras. How about those of us who have been just as vocally loyal for all these years? You already have a Red One, is that not good enough to hold you off for however long?

Companies are in titled to operate in whatever way they believe will be most profitable. Meaning, they do what they need to in order to keep running and maintain their company. With the amount of work, and energy they put into studying what it would take for them to make the amazing products they have now, do you not think for a moment they would spend just as much energy in how they operate their company? I'm sure there is a reason why it is how it is now, and if they did it any other way it could mean the company may not be as stable. I for one want them to be stable and operational so for years form now they can keep giving us their amazing products. Its not just about being first and cashing in, its about the amazing cameras. If you dont like the fact that you would be one of the only ones with an epic and sad because your not cashing in shit tons because you can charge more being one of the only ones than realize that charging WAY more than you should because your the only one is also wrong. Realize that its a life style, not just about quick cash and taking advantage of the system. Sorry man, but the worst part is with all your bitching your still goin to get your epic, and those of us who would kill to have one would really use it to its fullest and your complaining about it. YOUR GETTING AN EPIC. So be blessed and glad about it.

Comon man,
if you can't aford an Epic M what are you doing in the renting business?

If they are missing all those parts, they should not be selling so many Ms then. When they announced about Ms I thought it was a good idea, because that would be like a beta test, maybe 10-20 cameras maximum out there, would not hurt my reservation, and it would a good way to test it on field.

so you miss understood. You cant blame RED for your miss understanding. RED intended to sell what they have sold.

I guess giving the early adopters a full 100% trade-in credit towards the EPIC (which was spent on a RED One 4 years ago) just wasn't enough to make everybody happy...

Well, if I knew that it would be 6 month that epic-Ms would be exclusive I would buy it, it is not a matter of being able to afford it, it is matter of, why do I have to afford it, if I have a reservation. It is easy for someone new to buy Epic without hesitation, if he does not want to wait for 2 years, but when you have a low reservation number, you have a choice to make, wait for couple of month or not. But then this couple of month become half and year, and then maybe an year, who knows.

sorry to hear you're upset.

there's no conspiracy here. red has the means and parts to hand-produce special versions right now... not mass-produce. they would lose way too much money to hand out half-priced epic-m's... you're welcome to order one, though, if you need it that bad and are willing to pay. they've given out a lot of "freebies" and still are, but there is a limit to their ability to be generous like that. just keep in mind what any other camera company would offer... nothing. for your own sake i hope you continue to be patient... we're all waiting, including red, who seem to have been busting it for us... so maybe just say thank you, and go about your business.

Your bitching again. Also, dont drink and post.

HAHA, that was great trick. If you do the trade in EPIC is 28500, so minum 17500 you pay 11000. Now for keeping your RED, you get 8500 minus. So you pay 20000$, so basically it is 9000$ they return the RED ONE, I think I better keep my red one, so that is not making me happy at all. :)

What's funny is that everyone is so advocative about this company, so loyal, protecting every mistake of it, it is like a cult. Makes me smile, makes me think about the power of marketing, and makes me think that I was one of the first ones to advocate it. Only in my country at least 20 REDs have been sold purely because of me advocating it. Come on guys, they made a good camera, and we are all so excited about it, but giving them the right feedback will make them better. And right now, what I say is 100% correct.

if you give a mouse a muffin...

no reason to argue here guys, the points have been made, just leave him be and tomorrow he'll wake up from the bad dream. we'll all be better off leaving this alone right now.

I guess it's fair for you to state your opinions. Yes, I am loyal to RED because they treat their customers the way they would want to be treated. I also don't see where they made a mistake by offering the EPIC-M when they had the opportunity to buy specific parts at a premium to then in turn sell at a premium. I'm not quite following you here.

Are you advocating RED to actually slow down with the delivery dates when it's finally possible to ramp production up? Hehe. THAT's a funny thought...

noone ask you to argue or not, it is my opinion, and if you want to say yours please do so, but trust me you better of without insults....

no insults levan... sorry if anything came across that way. i just personally suggest you sleep on it, disassociate money with emotion, and appreciate what you have in life. good night guys, please don't make any messes.
