Yes, we need the REDMOTE asap for the shoot in July. It will make life so much easier.

RED One 3002 in Bahamas shark filming now, great stuff.

Any idea when Redmotes will ship for the M owners that don't have one yet - could really use one for the underwater housing controls. Also any word on connecting the Redmote via a wire rather than RF since RF doesn't work very far underwater - we will probably be limited to the REDMOTE right next to the plastic backplate - could locate in better positions with a wire.

Fingers crossed for sooner than later. If we have it for this trip it will be great.

That's great Brent, we have a big Tiger Shark trip leaving on July 4 so the sooner the better to get some time to build the case and do some testing.

Any word on wired operation? Is the USB port only for charging or is it capable of sending data?

First day with my EPIC and this firmware drops...great :-)

One bug that I noticed:
- Using the WB presets only sets the WB on the Yellow-Blue axis, not the green-magenta. So if you make a auto WB on a purple object and go back to a preset the WB is still greenish...

Love the new firmware:
...some bugs i noticed:
Pinching the screen ( i have "pinch" to magnify enabled)---sometimes when i pinch the screen will magnify; or HDRX screen shows up.
Finally, i could NEVER get Magnify to turn off....i had to record, stop, then it would go back to normal. Anyone have better luck?

Great build though....5k 16:9 will be nice...........

You need REDCINE-X 470 and you also need the latest Rocket installer 1.4.10 that was released yesterday. Without the updated Rocket drivers/firmware, if you attempt to load a 2K EPIC clip, it hangs your Rocket card and you have to re-start REDCINE-X to get it back. You can also turn off Rocket support and it will work then, but what fun is that? ;)

Sounds like a great build.
Now it just makes all of us stage 2 Epic future owners even more anxious....
Waiting patiently but anxiously and watching all that is happening

Legend... thanks Jeff.

One thing I think is FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKIN awesome is the REDLOG HDSDI output now. I stick a NINGA or KI PRO MINI on the back and all of a sudden I have built myself my very own PRORES (log) shooting HD (like the ALEXA... )
aaaaaaaand, once RED FINALLLY!!!!! get play back going. we will have 300 frames per second running out the HDSDI in to the NINGA or KI PRO MINI...!!!!!!

I get two cameras for the price of one..!!!
But the best thing is, I get all my 5k RAW flies and I get PRO RES LOG at the same time...

WHAT A GREAT GREAT DAY!!!!!!!

We are all giggling over here like childen.

One more function turned on (PLAY BACK) and I'm in camera heaven!!!!

We've been testing the new Firmware for the Epic-M.
It is still a little buggie:

*Lots of freezes
*Preview monitors went green
*At one point, monitor went B&W
Overall though the footage looked good, and there has been no issues with recording. We have been very happy with the 300fps.

We've been waiting on the REDmote update sense you can't roll back, and wanted to know if there have been any bugs that you all have noticed with it's new build?

Thanks
Stephen Wheeler
