There's a new iPhone to be announced at 6pm BST today apparently!!

I went into the apple store to get my iPhone fixed. The screen's broken and my little girl had been dribbling on the phone so the moisture sensor inside had been triggered and voided the warranty. D'oh!

So to get a new one will cost £130. But apparently there is an announcement of a new iPhone today at 6pm. So I'll wait a few days and get the upgrade. Apparently it's gonna be a new OS.

Here's a rumour article just to give you an idea: http://www.informationweek.com/news/personal_tech/iphone/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=217702155

iPhone OS 3.0 is coming out soon, it's supposed to be "summer". There are lots of rumors going around that Apple will unveil a new iPhone at their keynote presentation today to open up their WWDC show. Anyway we should know in about an hour or so for sure.

Even if they do announce a new phone, I doubt it will arrive in the next few days. Most likely, it will coincide with the iPhone OS 3.0 release which most people seem to expect in another couple months. Registered iPhone developers have access to the beta OS (in crippled form) and SDK right now.

Edit> Seems that some of the WWDC banners have iCal showing June 19 as a date to signify something. Some people are guessing the Snow Leopard release. Some are guessing new iPhone and/or iPhone OS 3.0 release. I guess we'll know soon...

In other news, Barack Obama was announced president of the United States

I've heard rumours about a new camera... I think it's called the RED One, anyone heard of it?

PS: Stefan - just kidding around...

Now, now, chill!

in the jungle the miiighty jungle the lion sleeps tonighttt.. awemba weh awemba weh..

Yeah but they've neutered them into being consumer laptops by pulling express34 on all but the 17 which is now the only one that deserves the pro moniker.

the new itunes update specifies its for iphone 3.0 support in the release notes

Boy, have they ever! SD card slots? WTF?!?

To be able to use an Esata card you have to buy a 7 pound monster-laptop?!?

And only $1200 for 4 extra gigs of memory. What's a 1000 percent markup among friends?

Apple has failed us bigtime here.

wow, have you been living in a cave? :)

Yes.

Since the food supply started running low I've been surviving by picking off local hikers and eating them. My little girl has been so hungry she tried to eat the iPhone. Hence the reason for travelling all the way to Regents Street in order to get it fixed and in the process find out about the new iPhone and hence the reason for this thread.

Actually this is what happens when your iPhone has been broken for a week. You've already lost the ability to use conventional media and so have nothing else to turn to. Like trying to decipher the cavernous yet backwards consciousness of a Windows machine after using OSX for the past six years.

So they've put firewire on the 13" MacBook and called it Pro. W*****s
