The ET EVF mount was a great mount but for the very small size of the new Bomb EVF Pro was way too big, so right before I left Matt, hook me up with a Spinner kit.. MATT YOU ROCK!!

I absolutely think this little pice of invention is going to make me and my assistant camera or second camera operator very happy,
on this set up I didn't add a Nato railing, didn't need to, but you add 100 or 140mm Nato rails.

Also some of you might have read that I had some issues with the Clutch shoulder pad and was unable to use the Chest and Back pads do to my health issues and bone problems,
but since I absolutely love everything else about the Clutch, I looked desperately to find a solution to use an adjustable pad, while keeping all other elements of the Clutch,
so to take advantage of its mounting options.

So what I came up with is a Marriage of the Clutch, the ET Mantis Pad and dovetail, and a little piece that was given to me as gift by WOODEN CAMERA,
which unbelievably seemed made perfectly for this exact purpose, so thanks again to the guys form WOODEN CAMERA... ;)

Of course the back Hot swap Battery plate from Bebob Rouge and the Super large 210 Battery from Italian company Blueshape, is there now,
but gone as soon as we get the REDVOLT... ;)

Here are few pics of the SPINNER and my new RED CLUTCH/ET MANTIS/WOODEN CAMERA SHOULDER RIG!!

Thanks Ketch!

I cannot see the spinner in the redstore....
Looks like the thing to get, though.

Could you make a list, with links - of your "must have" accessories to your M's?

Cheers and thanks!

My pleasure, Gunleick... ;)

As I said Matt hook me up, so consider this a Prototype, in fact it is one he he. I once again consider my self blessed and fortunate to find my self in such position with RED
and be allowed to get some goodies early on to Test out, THE SPINNER system, is as BAD A^%$@# as it comes, absolutely love it, and can't wait to post tone of pics of some behind the scenes of ROME!!

I wil do a list with pleasure, and post a separate thread as time allows, but I know there are lots of goodies for EPIC that are not even mentioned yet, and sure all of them will be on my list as well... ;)

That's gret Ketch! Looks amazing.

BTW: was there any camera angles you didn't take a picture of ;-)

Looking good my friend.

Looks badass Ketch, this is definitely on the list of "must have" accessories - Matt is doing some incredible work over there, really blown away by how he just came in and leapfrogged all the competition so quickly .....

Cool Ketch. Thanks for sharing. Just curious, now that you've ditched the Clutch shoulder pad, what are the advantages to your setup over simply buying the full Element Technica Mantis? It is, as you know, less than half the price of the Clutch.

i guess with additional mounts you can bring down the EVF in height and put it more to the front of the body, correct?

ET, Bebop... De-luxe!, looks the correct way.

Having your head tilted up like your setup suggest seems very radical . I can't imagine either having this head position all day.
The ET/Clutch combo seems to rise everything way too much ....
I know every op is different and shoulder rigs are very personal but this setup looks like the viewfinder could be lowered a lot to be comfortable.

For the record, I, like Ketch , find the CLUTCH a very nice piece of machinery but even a 5000$ rig can't please anyone, I have had to modify mine too to suit my operating .

Cheers

Frederic

Still need the top mount with telescopic rail and the 140mm NATO railing in order to get the full Spinner kit.
Again the 140mm NATO raing was not mounted here as we didn't use this rig to go shoot just to shoot at!!

Hmmm yeah I see your point. I guess not all the spinner parts are on the red store then :-)

humm, with the Redvolt you´ll need to counterbalance.

Okay, now posting form the MBP and not form iPhone is easy to expend on the post a bit... ;)

This pics were taken to show the Sinner it self and the Custom Shoulder system, EVF is used mostly on non Shoulder mount option, at list for me, even so I do use it often,
but you sure don't want to walk with one eye close and the other on the EVF, as you can't keep an eye on the EVF and the other Open, as you simply will not see the image clear inside the EVF.

There is more pieces to the Spinner system, and I didn't put them on, example the 140mm Nato Railing to lower the EVF and or distanced further out was not placed.

I goofed around with the pic as well as you can notice with the EVF pocking my EYE!!

Not nice to imply and or say things like that Dustin, next time, instead of been offensive, try suggesting something just in case I really did never used a shoulder rig and had no idea what I was doing,
that could be more helpful to every one... ;)

The Spinner system is a killer system and will be used constantly on al Dolly and tripod set ups out door, as I prefer it much better to the LCD, well even in door for that matter as it helps me concentrate on the scene.

The hight of the Camera it self has not changed, remained exactly the same as when just simply placed on the Mantis, the center of gravity has not changed on that respect,
of course when compared to the Clutch, is different, as the design of the Clutch places the camera at a lower level and center of gravity, but also places the camera a bit front heavy,
but this is designed to go with the Module which will balance the weight perfectly, also no problem at all if using the Chest pad, but I can't as it was hearing my ribs, as my bone structure
is unfortunately not good, for this al this work in making a custom Shoulder rig that fits my needs.

The reason I did this, combining the Clutch parts with the pad form ET's Mantis and the Small plate from Wooden Camera, is because I tried everything and nothing worked... NOW IT DOES!!

For those asking why, doing this and not going with the Mantis?

I don't like the handles and the grips, nor I like the way the handle sticks extend and or do not allow the type of movement and grip placement I look for to be at comfort, the Clutch Handles and
Grip system allow me to perfectly position the Grips were I need them, and adjust according to weight and type of angle of shoot I need to do, plus offer an INSANE amount of possibility with the Rosettes
and 14-20 and 3/8 Threaded holes.

In the weeks to come and the pics I will post together with videos of the behind the scenes of the projects I will be working on, you will see a tone of different pieces placed on to
Clutch/Mantis/Wooden Camera Shoulder Rig, utilizing the modularity of the Clutch and al the pieces that I have also gotten for this purpose.

Each needs are individual, even so there is a standard, each of us will always adjust to fit his/hers own needs, if we want to work professionally and comfortably, and get the job done!!

Looks cool. I think I'll probably end up with a clutch only. Do you think it would adjust well to me, or should I be looking elsewhere?

Thing is I'm still not seeing how you'll get the eyepiece down even with the NATO railing. Maybe I don't understand how you intend to mount the NATO rail

What I really want is to adjust the eyepiece vertical height and horizontal position as well as its angle easily. The Spinner seems to adjust the angle readily, but not the height. The NATO rail seems like it would adjust horizontal position. So, how should we expect to adjust height? Maybe you don't see that as an issue? Maybe I'm not understanding?
