So here's a head scratcher for you:

when using clipfinder to roundtrip an fcp xml everything works fine,
we're replacing the offline qt's with r3d's, coloring and rendering nicely, everything that is except for one clip. It shows up fine in fcp, roundtrips perfectly, but the problem is that when it goes to color it only shows the start of the clip rather than the specified timecode.

Looking at the clip closely i believe the problem to be that the timecode of the selected frame is technically before that of the start of the clip (somehow, maybe tod timecode, the clip starts at 23:53:25:18 and the timecodes i'm looking for are starting around a minute passed the changeover to 00:00:00:00)

Any ideas on a fix? I'd love to be able to color this footage without having to render a 20 minute clip and manually reconnecting for every instance of this clip (8 so far, do you have any idea how long it would take to render 160 minutes @ 2k out of color!!!!)

help please,
~T

Did you fix the color project with clipfinder? In the tools menu you will find a command called fix looping bug in color project, try that.

This is a situation that breaks many, many, many tools as TC is technically not supposed to wrap around from 23:59:59:xx to 00:00:00:00. What you will need to do is break the master clip down to two parts (perhaps involving pre-rendering to break up the R3D) and swap it out in the online edit then re-export an XML that refers to the new clip that does not have TC running over midnight.

And, in future, never, ever, ever roll over midnight on TOD timecode.

I didn't shoot it, i'm just trying to color it lol!

Luca, am i missing something that my clipfinder doesn't have a tools menu?

***UPDATE***
So it looks like the quickest way around this is to take those select clips thru RedCine via Crimson, apply any scaling or white point changes, render out fullest quality quicktimes, at this point the clips are pretty much matching what i've been doing in color, match contrast levels w/ some minor tweaks and render out!

Doesn't solve the initial problem, but like we're all used to by now, yet another work around!
