Anton/Bauer has released a handle for the RED camera. The handle has many different features:

- Hard drive mount capability; can be positioned anywhere on the handle and mounted vertically or horzontally.
- Hard drive mount is "hot" which allows for mounting of a spare battery AND allows you to "hot swap" batteries with the battery on the rear. ("Hot Swap" cable is included with Handle)
- Hard drive mount has an Anton/Bauer PowerTap on it, so if you mount a spare battery, you are able to power additional accessories.
- Horizontal and Vertical mounting of the Anton/Bauer Gold Mount and allows you to move the battery out of the way of the LCD
- The Handle comes with all accessories. No need to buy items separately.

Pricing:
List$1995.00
or
List$995.00 (If you purchase or have purchased an Anton/Bauer battery system)

Please contact me at pdudeck@antonbauer.com with any questions.

I am only on the forum sporatically, so email is the best way to send me any questions.

Thanks.
Paul

I have seen this rig ans it is both solid and very lightweight. Note that the handle has a bazillion threaded holes for mounting accessories. The second plate (facing away) is a standard Anton Bauer battery mounting plate but without a cable coming off it. Instead, one can mount a spare battery there and then run a power tap cable from this plate to the main plate when it is time to hotswap batteries, never interrupting power. The cable has a diode in it to prevent backfeed of power. The other use for this plate is to mount a RED Drive or RED RAM. The item at the top of the plate is a mounting adapter for the hard drive. Also there is a focus hook pictured at the far left which mounts to the front of the handle.

Available for purchase from Abel.

is the drive holder shock mounted?

I had the pleasure of bringing my Red over to the A/B headquarters to test this product. It's really nice, very well made.
The focus hook and uninterruptible power supply are nice additions too.
I don't believe the drive mount is vibration isolated. But Paul could confirm.
Cheers,
Harry

You can position the second mount anywhere along the handle in a horizontal or verticle configuration. Plenty of real estate to grab the handle. No shock mount.
