Personally I think 2/3" lenses at 0.95 aperture offer more than shallow enough DOF for 90% of situations but that's just, like, my opinion man.
Red, is there an official upgrade policy on Red Lens? Has this been asked or discussed? I would love to buy Red glass knowing that when the electronic lens come out I can easily upgrade by trading in my current lens. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Ben
What does anyone think about Epic-S VS Red MX?
I'm hoping I don't have to go all the way up to Epic-X to get the quality that I'm looking for.
Epic-S should outperform Red 1 MX in most ways that affect image quality, including supporting HDRx™™™ and full 5k resolution which R1-MX doesn't do. What we don't know is what maximum frame rates will be.
I think I'm most worried about compression ratios, but we don't know that either lol.
We will know them soon enough I'm sure!
Epic -S will have more processing power than R1-MX, so it seems likely to support at least the same range of compression ratios. That is certainly pretty adequate.
LOL.I've said this before, RED folks. I will clean your bathrooms if it helps get my hands on an EPIC-S. I've got my Clorox and toothbrush ready to go.
LET'S DO THIS!

not to change subjects but with the new MacBook Pro that just came out with the new processors will they be enough to handle R3D files?? specially when the Epic S comes out!! that would be a very inexpensive way to shoot and process your footage!
