IF they could make it between $8K and $14K ($12K would be very nice to me:001_rolleyesthat would make an incredibly agressive price tag compared to the other camera makers.
For me, and pure speculation, the features would be :
- HDRx™
- 3 or 4K (what's the point if it is 5K as the big sister Epic X, plus they already have 4K MX sensors...)
...
This is never going to happen Jesper. EPIC-S will be 5K. RED is always pushing forward. Why on earth would the resoultion decrease? The price is going up, as in more expensive. Then why change the resolution when they keep telling us 4K is the future. Plus it is Epic now, and with great powers comes a great... resolution.

Bigger size and more weight. Manufacturing in Asia would mean better prices.![]()
http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=52245&page=59The changes made from Scarlet S35 to EPIC-S are significant. It used to be on the original Scarlet platform and we moved it to the more comprehensive EPIC platform a couple of months ago. Big differences. Manufacturing in the US will cost more than Asia... but prices in Asia have also risen quite a bit in the last year or so.
Our biggest problem was announcing the program with one set of circumstances, being late... and the world changed. Jim
Same here... ;-)That's what I'm saying?!
Depends on what you want. There are many options out there. Lenses can be expensive.People may overestimate brain price. Remember still have to add
EVFs and such..real question is how much a shooting bundle will cost..???..
Same here... ;-)
Ja, vi er.Well, then we are definately on the same page.![]()
4.5K if you like. (Red One MX)
The Scarlet 2/3" sensor is MX @ 3K.
Who knows? For a couple of grands, he can lose thousands of them, I mean, sales.12K is still high. 7K was the initial target. No reason for being optimistic.
The MX chip in the r1 is 5k, but the r1 can only read out unto the 4.5k frame size. Unless something has changed, the actual sensor in the MX R1 is the same sense as the Epic. So there is no MX sensor less than 5k.
Which is weird, 'cause we don't have to say it's the 2/3" anymore...![]()
Just mentioning the sensor dimensions and resolution, Joseph.
I know the models are 8X Fixed and Cinema Interchangeable...at the moment.
Yeay! Two weeks have gone by :emote_happyhappy: Are we up for announcements tonight?arty:
called EPIC Light. The features have changed as has the price. I'll update in the next two weeks.
Jim
Unless I missed something but I never heard Jim say the Scarlet FF35 was out too?
